The YNTs have done a good job lately, IMO. And Downs is a weird case.

What... You're talking about Luca de la Torre like he's some unknown quantity up and coming exciting prospect and not a nondescript midfielder well into his pro career who has 24 caps and was literally on the 2022 World Cup roster.

Another guy who is good in MLS but doesn't exactly stand out as some potential game changer... but his team is performing well. Sorta like Sean Zawadski lol

i would have called up Paxten Aaronson over de la Torre.
I'm watching my first SD match of the season right now, and he's playing well.
    Doing de la Torre things........................

By the way, I think their teenager Bombino is quite interesting. So may young US-eligible fullbacks playing well.

I would have brought Paxten to play on the AM line, where we are thin. Probably at the expense of Agyemang.

Schulte out six weeks which should knock him out of the roster.

Steffen has also missed the last two games with a muscle injury (unclear the severity though).

Brady and Kochen the only other goalies on the provisional.

No excuse not to start Freese in these friendlies on thru to GC (if he performs well), now. It'd be a similar track as Turner was originally, when he went from Jan camp straight to GC starter.

wishing Horvath was on provisional roster. He did start 17 games in championship this year.

Horvath wasn't particularly good for a relegated team in the Championship, though.

I'd be perfectly happy with Brady taking the Schulte roster slot. Give another guy a chance in camp.

Kochen might end up being awesome but Brady has done pretty well in a first division. I definitely think he deserves his shot given the circumstances.

We’ll see if Steffen’s injury is enough to keep him off or not.

Only reason to not take Brady is as a favor to the Fire for him not to be missing for a sustained period. The camp is also in Chicago I believe which makes it easy to have Brady there on short notice if Steffen comes to camp and can’t ultimately go.

Yeah I’d agree with this that Brady would be on the roster for certain if both Schulte and Steffen miss. Just depends on steffen’s injury severity. But the timing sucks doesn’t it. Trying to evaluate other options besides Turner and the other guys are hurt.

Was Horvath that bad or were his defensive backs poor?

He had the worst shot stopping of any GK in the Champo who played enough minutes to qualify, -.20 goals prevented per 90.

That sounds bad and he looks to hold some part in their relegation.

They already did the Fire a favor in leaving off Guti, who is now on red card suspension anyway. So no sense in not just transferring him to this local camp w/out a roster limit.

I imagine he'd be the 1st person to get the call if any of half the players on the roster become unavailable, which usually happens. Just has w/ 2 keepers already. So I get my Guti.

I was reading some sort of Fulham fan page on social media the other day and they were crushing Antonee Robinson. Basically saying he's been a shell of himself over the last quarter of the season. That he was a liaibility and it was hard to see him play at such a low level. I was surprised by some of the comments.

[Meanwhile Antonee Robinson had the most assists of any fullback in the Premier League. More than Trent Alexander Arnold. More than Kerkez. He had more assists than..............Cole Palmer.]

I think there was some exaggeration about that performance level from the Fulahm fans. But its fairly clear that everyone realizes he's been playing hurt for quite some time.

[Every single one of these fan blogs or fan social media pages in England is endless bitching and whining about everything. Even for the clubs that overperformed or met expectations. The fans are endlessly whining about the board or front office not doing MORE.]

Brady to replace Schulte as many have thought should happen

Unclear if Steffen is out or not yet though they need to cut one of the four goalies anyways.

Brady, of course, was getting overtures from Scotland.
He was one we thought might be poached if we didn't provide an opportunity.

Still only 21 years old. It'll be nice to keep him in the fold. Cap-tied if he plays in the Gold Cup. We'll see.....................

[If you'd asked some of the youth posters three years ago whether it was more likely that Slonina or Brady was going to make the 2025 Gold Cup roster..................some would have said Brady. They were at Chicago at the same time. Some said the Fire could sell Slonina as Brady was better anyway. I didn't believe it at the time. Maybe they'll be right in the long run.]
