I have not seen Freeman play. Is he currently in better form than DeJuan Jones who is currently killing it and can play both L and R FB.
I think that Freeman has been playing quite well and more than anything has more upside than Jones given his athletic profile and that he’s 20. I continue to think if there’s an MLS guy who is going to surge his way onto to the roster from out of nowhere it’s going to be Freeman.
Players who made 60-man provisional roster for Nations League in March, but were dropped: Drake Callender (Inter Miami) Ethan Horvath (Cardiff City) Noahkai Banks (FC Augsburg) Jackson Ragen (Seattle Sounders) Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC) Indiana Vassilev (Philadelphia Union) Cade Cowell (Guadalajara) Benjamin Cremaschi (Inter Miami) Jesus Ferreira (Seattle Sounders)
The Sounders and Miami guys I assumed also dropped because both teams are in the Club World Cup. Though Callander probably gets dropped either way.
Yes, Miami and Seattle guys dropped due to CWC. And one expects Banks and Cremaschi could be with the U20s......................................... If people want to get worked up over Indiana Vassilev and Cade Cowell, be my guest.
If you think that Freeman will beat out guys like Jones and Bryan Reynolds for a spot on the GC roster that is very high praise. Thanks. FYI Jones is no athletic slouch IIRC he ran a 3.82 in the 30 and had a 35" vertical. He bettered players like Trajon Buchanan at the combine.
Reynolds at least is not on the provisional so he can’t be on the Gold Cup roster. It’s also he’d be coming as one of the last guys on a 26 man roster where I’d rather be taking a look at the up and coming guy versus someone who is very familiar.
I guess the question is.......................................... Is Bryan Reynolds demonstrating he's better than Marlon Fossey and Alex Freeman? [Heck, I think Frankie Westfield of Philadelphia is edging towards a January camp invitation. He may be with the U20s in this window. He's 2.5 years younger than Freeman.] I'm not sure any of us actually have seen enough of his games to know. But if the staff is selecting Griffin Yow for the provisional roster, then somebody is..................

Zimmerman's on the list. If you don't count Club World Cup players, the only ones that have been dropped are Horvath, Banks, Vassilev, and Cowell.
Nope, they don't have. Medical info is protected by European law and nobody, certainly not from outside the EU, can access medical data of a player.
Pochettino today made a comment vis-a-vi the players for these two friendlies also being the Gold Cup players. "I think under our consideration, the percentage is going to be high, the players that are going to be involved in the first two friendly games and then in the Gold Cup," he said. "I think it's a logical decision because I think if you want to prepare [for] the Gold Cup, I think you need your players being fit in the competition and in training." He also made a comment about Dest indicating he won't be rushed. He'll see. He said he'd "take the best decision for him thinking not only in today, [but] also in the future of him and in the future of the national team."
They can definitely challenge if a club says a player is injured and get their own medical evaluation done independently. There’s nothing in EU law that prevents this. It’s just rare for things to get to this point as usually the club and national team work something out.
Sorry, but medical information is in EU law solely available to the player and his club. Nobody else can demand medical information being supplied, which is a demand for independant medical evaluation too. You really need a brush up on the reach of the EU privacy laws. Nobody in his right mind is going to do that independant evaluation, because it means a breach of the players privacy and comes with enormous fines. Only when a player himself releases the info, it can be used.
It’s not medical information for a club to say a player is injured. And the independent evaluation is done with the player’s agreement so there’s no laws being violated. There is no EU bar to medical information being shared if a player it’s ok with it being shared. Which they are not going to deny in such an instance. This is a well established FIFA that gets invoked from time to time. Including in the EU without incident.
