They are playing better and playing more disciplined at both Club and Country.

Have you seen our depth in the back line and at Keeper? None of our players would start or be on the bench for Korea based on their recent form or lack there of.

we are currently totally ignoring players at mainz (maloney), austria wien (malone), gladbach (scally and reyna), lafc(...), denmark (amon, hoppe, gallegos, etc), etc...meanwhile Korea used players from all of these clubs!! do you not get that?!?!

Korea is using players from clubs that we dont even consider good enough for our national team apparently

we are also ignoring players from: atletico madrid, leeds, coventry, psv, juventus, atalanta, leverkusen, toulouse, venezia, st pauli, dortmund, twente, frankfurt, salzburg, fulham, westerlo, watford, celtic, panathanaikos, west brom, botafogo, lyon, middlesborough

these are only the players not here!

try and make a similar list of all the korean players not there...i'll wait

korea doesnt have better players than the usa

they are playing better as a team though

My post was about players on this roster. Not hypothetical players who were not called up that have rarely played these last few months for us.
Different argument for a different thread.

well yeah...if you call up a bunch of players way down the depth chart who have no business being on the team....yeah youre going to have worse players than the other team

    isnt that obvious?

the players not called up arent "hypotheical" either ...they are the players who should be there

when poch decided to flood this team with MLSErs this is what everyone who hated it KNEW would happen

They are hypothetically on your roster.
But in reality they are not on the roster.

IT is not obvious which is why we are having this conversation right now.

and meanhile korea used a player from the denmark league - hence why i mentioned hoppe

US players in denmark might as well be playing on the moon

but apparently theyre good enough for korea....who has "better players than the US"

try to follow along here, pal

*also FWIW hoppe did just have a hattrick for his danish club (and i personally think he is the quintessential poch player who would fit perfectly in his style)

US players are at better clubs because of the influence of American owners and attempts to grow US fanbases. Korean players don't have that benefit. While many of those players have shown themselves to be good enough for the clubs they play at, who knows if they'd have gotten that same opportunity had they been of another nationality?

us youth national teams are kicking ass. thats why more americans are at euro clubs. these guys all deserve where they are at....yeah, there might be a few situations where american influence helps...but it balances out to a net negative on the whole for americans.

    didnt help matt turner much

im sure if mckennie was italian, he wouldnt be having to prove himself every year

if johnny wasnt brazilian no chance he is playing for atletico right now

james sands wouldnt be on loan right now (and before)

    on and on

you think mathis albert is at dortmund bc hes american? if you do, youre nuts

Doesn’t Mexico hold all of the current age group trophies? It’s most of them right now, for sure.

No I'm being serious. It's why the "Badge FC" argument is a fallacy. Look at Johnny. Big fancy transfer to Atleti and yet has never done anything of note for the USMNT. I also wouldn't be surprised if Tillman suffers the same fate.

oh no im not attacking the players its not their fault its never their fault that is clear. I agree with CP on this. I thought he was brilliant against in the last match. they sort of almost scored a goal(and that was with sargent out there so you know how rare a goal for the national team is with sargent out there) and that was amazing work by the team.

I don't blame the players for not playing well they aren't good players and expecting them to play well is way too much. If they need the perfect lineup and perfect tactics to beat Panama(I am not going to say at home though because lets be honest the us has no home matches) then its time to lower your expectations because they are just awful.

this is why the goal for the us in the next world cup is one point in the group stage. if they call pull off one draw we should celebrate that like winning the world cup.
