True, but their shots were mostly pathetic.

Clark was solid throughout. Gros looked like he was going to trip on his own feet everytime a Mexican player ran at him?

But it's even MORE nice when it's not a new thing to beat Mexico . . . see, beating them with regularity, after reading a lot of press about how they are going to settle things once and for all, and after a guy like Hugo Sanchez takes one on the chin and after a guy like Oswaldo Sanchez -- well, nevermind -- and after they again refuse to shake hands on the field . . . it has a cumulative effect. THAT's what's nice . . . I wouldn't call it KOREA NICE, but nice nonetheless . . . for those of us "C-team" fans who care about that kind of thing.

Of course, we trust you'll let us know when the A-team comes to town? I'd like to see them too!

Here is a pretty good example of a current post from the Mex board:

hey noob cvnts, shut the hell up already and swallow it.

we were superior, the ball just didn't go in... tough luck.

now chill, this is only the beginning.

In the tradition of Shep Messing I have this to say. Landon I take back everything I every said about you. Our B-team just beat there A-team 2-0. Expect MLS marketing to be all over this one. A bunch of out of season MLS players just heavily Euro based in-season A-team Mexico squad. Life is sweet.:)

This has to be the best one I've read thus far:

About Oswaldo Sanchez, he didn't really try to injured that guy johnson.. is call "INTIMIDAR"!!!

Okay. Right. Players NEED to be intimidated once you're down 2-0 and there is less than 2 minutes to play. What a bunch of punks. Classless players, and apparently, classless fans. At least those on BS.

I really enjoyed the way the young players played tonight. The future looks bright for the US.

I was calling for it the whole game after the first one. The way the team played on the ball after that made it seem like it would happen.

My positive thoughts are that the USA positively kicked Mexico's ass.

Didn't Rodan get his own ass positively kicked, repeatedly, by Godzilla?

And I really like "our tagline".

. . . no I don't expect positive posts toward the USA, I DO expect the Mexican fans to realize that it wasn't due to _________ excuse that they lost, and that they need to wise up and stop defending their GKer.

So it was a situation of roughly equal number of chances but finishing was the difference? Sounds like a deserved win then.

    Uhhh, where'd Rodan's post go?

His post and my quotation of his post vaporized.

There is only one thing about tonight's win that sucks:
My ********ing job refused to give me today and Thursday off so I could have made it to the game.
ARGH. SO WANTED TO BE THERE.

Yes. But Rodan never brought his A game.

    Just keep on thinking positive.

it won't happen. we could win every fixture for the rest of eternity and their fans would still think it was just a fluke.

they aren't going to give us any respect. we can just count on their on field cheapshots and bad sportsmanship to increase exponentially.
