Compliments Nick for your organization !!! I also have watched live in streaming the game and I am very happy for this great victory of the USA team. I have read that for the 2009 Confederation Cup in South Africa there will be about 10.000 USA fans. Is it true ?
well its a lot of people involved here making this happen - but thank you! I have yet to hear that about US fans - if so - that is great - there is always a large consortment of US fans! Glad to see it! True Story - ask Woodside MEts - there were two guys from overseas in the bar the other night - they tried to get tickets to a hockey game but was sold out so came to the bar to watch american sports - heard us singing and checked out our party and were shocked US fans supported that way!!! It was a good night!
Yeah thanks everyone that came down to root on our boys..Amazing night..A big Shout out to Vinnie, Clive, Jen and all at Jack Demsey's for making us feel like we're home..God Bless ya's
I know that now soccer in the USA is the fourth sport about popularity, but in my opinion still there is some problem. USA-MEXICO has been watched in USA by 7.1 million of viewers ( I think that the total viewers exceeds the 10 million with bars etc..... ), but while on Univsion there was 5.9 million, on ESPN 2 there were only 1,2 million of viewers. Why exists still this enormous difference between latin fans and true USA fans ?
Well, part of it is the commentary (which is horrible and I'm glad I'm bilingual and can watch and understand the spanish broadcast) and the fact they push the game window off to the side and bring up a 2nd window talking about some retiring football player and basketball news!!
Yeah napoli, I my spanish is pretty weak but I watch some of the world cup games on univision because the broadcast is better and more fun.
And ESPN pulled the same sh*t twice, even though it was mentioned on the crawl about 30 times as "breaking news". I liked the 1842 flag. See you guys at the next game.
