Regarding McKenzie--the dude looks REALLY fit. He looks more nimble than I've ever seen him. He's following a nice career trajectory for a CB.
He's thicc but mostly just upper body. His legs are short but not that thicc, which gives him a bit of an inverted pyramid look. Here he is as a U14 for the Quakes. Not sure but I think that's CB Casey Walls next to him, who was a long-time Quakes Homegrown who recently retired after playing a little with Phoenix Rising.
Oh great, the Yanks Abroad “analysis” of teenage boys physiology has broken containment. If we weren’t on watch lists already…
well, this certainly made me smile: . "I'm not trying to hate, but this is one of the worst Trinidad teams I've seen in a while," Dempsey said on The Deuce: Live! podcast. "I wish I coulda played tonight - I coulda got me one [goal]."
Don't shoot the messenger. I didn't write the story, Jeff Carlisle did, for ESPN. Take it up with him / them if you'd like. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...al-route-real-salt-lake-led-usmnt-opportunity "Back when Luna was making his way through the Quakes academy, the feedback from U.S. Soccer types was that Luna was unfit and even overweight. It took the Quakes showing the USSF player evaluators the fitness program Luna was on, insisting that he was "barrel chested" and not overweight. The message finally got through, with a call-up to the U15 national team soon following. "We try not to work on opinions. It's true, though: Luna had a different body type," said Tony Lepore, the current head of talent identification for the USSF. "But for us, it's part of what we train our scouts and coaches that we have to be patient with all that. And it's never linear. Players develop in all areas." Luna's physique wasn't the only thing that was different. He thought differently, too..."
Yes, if you've already cut off your nose to spite your face there's nothing stopping you from gouging out your eyes, too.
When they rotate him in as a third back, he’s fantastic in coming in and stabilizing the unit. Great find there by Pochettino. Its the first time he has looked like we’re getting the most out of him.
