I was wondering if any one knows what jersey number the 1950 WC goal scorer Joe Gaetjens wore back in the day? Thanks!

There was one other question I had for Mr. Huckel. Given that "The Game of Their Lives" was coming up sooner or later, and having seen a 1950 jersey in a photograph in a Soccer Hall of Fame exhibit, I was hoping to find out which players wore what number. Here was the response:

"Numbers on uniforms are unclear. Here are the ones we know for sure:
Harry Keough - #3
Ed McIlvenney - #14
Charlie Columbo - #5
Walter Bahr - #6
John "Clarkie" Souza - #10
Ed Souza - #11
Johnny Souza tells us that Joe Gaetjens wore #17."

thats funny the reason I asked was because I was ordering the 1950 jersey from toff

better to buy the jersey from the ussoccer.com store. the toff's jersey is all cotton, very nice and all. Certainly more authentic. but kinda funny looking. You can get the nike version and be more cool.

thanks alot I actualy have another toff shirt and I rather like them. Plus for some reason I wasn't that into the retro one at ussoccer.com. It just seems like the one they have now at least witht he toff shirt I know it's diffrent then the mnt away jersey that I have. But thanks for your help.
