"NEW YORK - (AP)- Players on the U.S. soccer team would each receive a minimum bonus of nearly $200,000 apiece for advancing to the second round of next year's World Cup under an agreement that would allow each to earn almost $750,000 if the Americans go unbeaten and win the tournament.

The U.S. Soccer Federation and the national team's labor union finalized a contract Monday that covers the next two World Cups and runs through 2010. Under the deal, bonuses rise by 50 percent from the 2002 tournament and will increase from 22.5 percent to 35 percent from 2006-10, depending on how the Americans do at next year's tournament in Germany."

Because this deal goes thru 2010 when we're bound to win it, silly-head.
Besides, Landon lobbied for the "Unicorn Clause" but the other players told him to shut the **** up.

  5. Good to see that this is over with... For a while there we were talking about scrubs crossing the picket line and playing qualifyers with guys from MISL and A-League teams. If this hadn't been settled now it could have been a big distraction again later on.
