    Two issues:

    1. Can we please get them to make the damn score and sponsor icon a little smaller? I think it got better in the second half, but at the beginning, including the space it was covering and the unusable parts of the screen above and to the left, it covered up about 30% of the upper left corner.

I mean it is just ridiculously large and distracting.

    2. Can we stop handing out those damn blue horns please? I totally understand that the crowd that goes to these games could do more to provide some noise and atmosphere, but those things, even in the telecast, are terribly annoying. You can't even turn it up to hear the crowd because of the damn horns. At least go to whistles or something for awhile...

    Any support on this??

When they sound like a horse dying a slow, painful death, like the guy a few rows from us Saturday, yes they sound horrid.

I'm not a real big fan of them, and would prefer whistles, but it's become something cemented in US Soccer.

Bottom line, this should be a moot point, because the 17000 fans that were there should be chanting and making noise the whole game, not sitting on their butts drinking $5 bottled water.

that noise issue: i actually want ESPN telecasts to crank up the volume louder of the field and crowd microphones because the emotion of the people there is nothing better that gives you goosebumps! thats why i kinda dislike some mls crowds that usually bring in the MLB picknic mood there,,, NOOOO soccer should be all like europe of 50,000 voices chanting the same songs, or like 65,000 koreans during the worldcup 2002, or the like central american crowds of 30,000 singing their national anthems as it plays

I was watching Mexico v. Paraguay on Telemundo earlier in the week and the crowd noise was awesome. Telemundo knows how to mic the crowd to really give you the feel of the atmosphere.

Can we get thundersticks like the Anaheim Angels had last World Series? They were ridiculously loud. And we need a mascot that's more fun than Uncle Sam. - Does anyone remember Eddie the Eagle from the 94 Olympic games? I think he's a perfect national mascot.

The horns have to go. They're annoying enough for the viewer, but as ambient sound for someone else in the home, they're terrible. One thing I don't need is tension from my wife about whether I can watch a soccer game due to the irritating crowd noise.

Thundersticks have been at MLS/Nats games in the past and are crap. Buy an airhorn it works so much better.
