Where is it? It was supposed to be released hours ago. More and more US Soccer reminds of the old Soviet Union with its penchant for secrecy and inefficiency, all lorded over by a permanent unaccountable apparatchik. I think the real problem is that Bob is so embarrassed that he is naming EJ again to the squad that he is blushing as he types his name onto the sheet. For the life of him, he can't remember we he keeps calling EJ up. He is the second player on the sheet behind Junior. I wonder if he saw what the Cardiff fans reviews of EJ are? They are eerily similar to the Fulham reviews, except they caught on quicker than Fulham fans.
the "old Soviet Union"? You might want to rethink usage of the word "old". Seriously though, I didn't even know that we were to be expecting the roster out. I guess I need to get back in the loop.
http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/inde...5&S=cdb7d92709ae8ee85f9762aad23968a5#page_top This one is a beauty. "Ok it was his first game but I think he will prove to be another Jones striking disaster. In fact I would go as far to say we already have 5 better strikers than him at the club McCormack (who increasingly impresses me), Bothroyd, Parry, Thompson and Roger Johnson. First touch a joke - how did Fulham ever sign him? Lazy. Ducks out of 50/50 challenges. Hesitant. Plenty of pace but his movement off the ball was often non-existent (in comparison with McCormack who looked hungry all night). Did get in a couple of decent positions in the 6 yard boix which is a trait we have been lacking forcing a save from the keeper on the first occasion but making a complete hash of it the second completely missing the ball. Let's not forget he was also up against League One opposition tonight. Jones described him as a Premiership striker which he patently is not. In fact I'm not even sure he's up to League One level. If we brought a youth player into the side and he performed like that I would be disappointed Still time will tell."
Bob is probably waiting for the transfer window to close before he chooses his players. After all, his son could be on the move and he doesn't want to call him in if he's getting "settled into a new club"...
Oh, that would be wonderful. BS would crash if his son got transfered today and got the inevitable call-up and start next week. It would be beautiful.
That is great news if true! Therefore, he can't call EJ because he is "getting settled at his new club".
Not necessarily. His new club might tell EJ to just "settled out". I won't be surprised if Cardiff decided to give EJ a season long vacation.
Well, I actually don't mind Bob too much. Except for his habit of calling up players who don't play well for the national team (Junior) and don't play well for the national team or club (EJ, Dempsey). So, even when he does play the empty bucket against semi-pro teams like Barbados I don't get too mad. I only get mad when he calls up players who have a sense of entitlement.
That would be a SHAME. Where are the soccer journalists in this country (Ives, Goff, Wahl, Trecker, Chang, anyone)? Why do they not questioned BB every time EJ is called up? You know, we have several strikers who start for their club teams and actually SCORED GOALS. When was the last time EJ start for a club (not to mention scored a goal). The journalists in this country are nothing but a bunch of cowards.
1pm EST: Bob sharpens his pencil in a robotic fashion using one of those old school pencil sharpeners bolted to the wall in his office. 1:01pm EST: Bob writes down "M. Bradley" on his yellow notepad. 1:03pm EST: Bob is discouraged when his windbreaker won't zip up any higher. 1:05pm EST: Bob re-sharpens his pencil. 1:07pm EST: Bob writes down "E. Johnson" on his yellow notepad. 1:10 pm EST: Bob checks the MLS schedule for Sept. 6 and panics when he sees FC Dallas do not have a match. 1:11pm EST: Bob calls Mike Sorber and Peter Nowak and asks them to complete the roster.
Guys - the roster is listed on Studio 90. Just a warning though, you may not want to see it. No Jozy, no Adu, no Cooper.....
