I know that this is the MLS board, but I am just curious what people think. I mean we already have players like JOB, Reyna, Friedel, Keller, Cherundolo, Sanneh, Berrhalter, Kirovski playing overseas. With the amount of talent the US is putting out these days it would be a travesty for them not to try and ply their trade in a better league. I mean McBride went over to EPL and was inredibly succesful. Granted other than Friedel he is probably the best US player right now. Who do you think would do well. I would love to see some US players in EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, or Serie A. Which players do you think should go. I would love to see Beasley, Donovan, Mastro, Convey, Howard in a foreign league to see how they stacked up. I believe only young talent would make it. What are your thoughts on this? What effect would this have on the MLS?
Allow me to reference basically 1/2 of the content of the Yanks Abroad and USMNT boards as a place to look for people's opinions on this subject. Some players are desperate to get to Europe for the bigger paychecks and high level of competition; others want playing time and a chance to live at home. These are individual decisions, that also require a team to play for that is similarly interested in the player. Sometimes that combination is harder to find than it may seem.
