I’m worried about Adams. The yellow cards. Tillman was very good except that late chance, which, oy vey.

Berhalter’s shot at 89:30, yikes. But he did well.

Adams, Tillman, and McKennie were absolutely phenomenal. Hated the Adams red card. Berhalter played very well and within himself, I thought.

Tillman at CM partnering Adams was inevitable as many had been saying for a while. Final piece of the puzzle, stitched everything together on both sides of the ball.

For those harping on the miss, fu@k right off, the dude covered every blade of grass from box to box and was completely exhausted after cutting out the pass to then slip Pepi in on that sequence, he gave everything.

I think you’re right, he was heavy legged at the end. It just means he gave everything he had.

I think you meant yellow card, not red.

Would you start Adams and risk a yellow card suspension? I wouldn’t. I ain’t afraid of Australia.

To a lot of folks, starting Roldan would be risky, BUT if he can handle Australia, Adams could play against Turkey. Then if he gets a second yellow, it would be wiped clean for the next round, IIRC.

This might've been our most dominant part of the game with the exception of Christian's one-on-one stuff on the left wing.

Everybody kicked ass, and took names…

Agreed. I would sit Adams and play Berhalter or Roldan in the middle. Don’t want to risk him missing Türkiye.

I rarely worry much about Tyler getting a yellow, but that one was just so unnecessary. It was one of his few mental switch-offs tonight. He was generally very good.

I WOULD start him, though. We want to win this, and I trust Tyler to know the stakes and keep it professional.

Absolutely no changes. 3 points against Aus. At that point we can decide if we care about 1st or 2nd.

Agreed. I know the whole thing about crying over spilt milk – I get it. But in that part of the field? I just can't understand what he was thinking.

It was a stupid stupid stupid play by him. I think he starts vs Australia- 6 points going into the last group match is the most important thing.

Might depend on what happens in the game tonight too. Draw or Australia win I think you definitely play Adams vs the Aussies, Turkey win you can have that discussion.

I'd play Adams and if we win consider sitting him against Turkey. If he gets a second against Australia he misses the Turkey game while if he gets a second against Turkey he misses a single elimination game. Cards are wiped after the first round but you still get a suspension for the next game.

I didn't realize the suspension carried over....in that case, yes, 100% have to play him vs Australia. Get the W there and hope we get some luck from Turkey stumbling in their first 2 games so we can sit him vs them.

I do think your point in your previous post about what happens tonight in the Australia - Türkiye match matters.

I still can’t believe Berhalter got minutes in the World Cup. I mean the score clearly had a lot to do with it but who had him making the team much less playing (and playing well)? Crazy.

He's come a long way. I still wonder if Poch really thinks Berhalter is the answer if Adams can't play, but up 3-0 v Paraguay was a low-risk opportunity to start preparing for that eventuality (without actually pulling Adams).

Gold Cup pretty much sealed the deal for me acknowledging he was in.
