I’d usually be rather disappointed we’re playing USOC during WC, but the team really needs to get some continuity going. I’d like to see Bruce put out the first team for that very reason – though another USOC championship works for me too. Can we use the guys that got bounced from LAG II? I don't know the rules here. And I do agree that we should use a few starters to keep the blood flowing. Anyone with an injury is allowed to rest. Our starters get 45, put the game away, and we go from there. I want CCL, however necessary.
Which is why the GII squad played in their US Open Cup games without guys like Hoffman, Mendiola, and a few other senior roster loanees. That keeps them available for the Galaxy senior squad's Open Cup games.
Honest question. If, every single year, you asked Santa Claus for a pony, and he didn't bring it to you...at what point would you feel foolish asking for a pony?
And besides, can we really say that the 2014 Galaxy has been soccer "nice" as opposed to soccer "naughty?" I thinks it's "a lump of coal."
Dear Santa, Please bring the Galaxy a Mauricio Cienfugos clone. Thank you, Topper PS: I've been good. PPS: Please bring me one of these. Or two.
as long as you're asking, could you please specify a '90's Cien clone? i'd hate for you to be disappointed when a Santa brings you a 46 year old youth coach.
The same time you realize you can buy one on eBay and invalidate the old fat fock's existence from the annals of relevancy.

So come fourth round (June 15), LA will take on the winner of the La Maquina-LA Wolves FC game. I've never heard of La Maquina but internet search tells me they're a club from Santa Ana that plays in the United Premier Soccer League. Their branding reflects Cruz Azul. LA Wolves are an amateur club from Torrance and also play in the UPSL.
I heard an interview with the guy who runs the TheCup.US web site. I think he said there is one ex-CDCUSA player on La Maquina. The site is a pretty good source for all things Open Cup.
