DC and Columbus knotted up 1-1 in the 25'. Chad Marshall in the 18' and Moreno in the 22'. Sounds like Gaudette's been pretty busy tonight. I'm happy that we get audio coverage of this game.
can you guys go to usopencup.com and see if stuff is being updated? i'm trying to update the scoreboard there but i am being frustrated technically. and fyi, roma keeper iwill not play tonight -- back home awaiting birth of his child
On Roma: that sucks. On the website: your updates aren't working. You need to change the tables that contain the score "0" for each team. I put the parts where you need to do your editing in bold. If you need further help, PM me or hit me up on AIM. Good luck.
more of an issue with the software/program ... grrr. updated on my screen interally, but i can't get it to publish. i'm trying ...
I'd love to see Roma win tonight, but I think the goalkeeper change is gonna put the nail in the coffin. I hope I can listen to this game on mlsnet.com.
Thanks! From a quick scan of the tracker, it looks like Roma is getting shelled. Come on, Roma, sneak one in!
Roma was getting knowcked around in the first half. But from the looks of things it seems like they've settled and are starting to get some SOGs. Their backup keeper is just as impressive as Jesse Llamas. His name is Naster Merlo.
And just as I wrote that LA gets a cheap goal as Merlo plays around with the ball too much after receiving a pass from his defender. Game. Set. Match. LA 2-0 72'.
Congrats to Roma on an amazing run! And keeping it within 1 goal for 69+ minutes with your 46 y.o. backup keeper is not too shabby either.
I second that. Now, if only Houston will do it's job and take out Carolina. While I'd love to see a PDL team move on farther, I'd much prefer to see the Roma manager knock $5,000 off his credit card bill. What? You got a problem with me being practical?
Ditto. Plus, most of the Carolina roster are going back to their respective NCAA teams in the next couple of weeks, so what would a Carolina team look like in the quarterfinals? Certainly, nothing whatsoever like the team that went undefeated until its playoff loss to Bradenton.
Actually, the USASA and PDL are seperate as far as the $10,000 goes, so Carolina already has that prize. Now they're just lookigng to show who the REAL Dynamo is!
The USASA and PDL should have separate $10,000 prizes, but I am pretty sure they are lumped together in the "amateur" category and compete for only one $10,000 prize.
How'd that work out for ya? Chicago/KC is on www.chicago-fire.com tonight, 7:30pm CT. And if you're at or listening to a game tonight, feel free to send scores to usopencupscores@kenn.com and I'll get them on the air. Just keep your messages short, I don't read very quickly.
Hahahaha. Yeah, I kinda blew it on my picks. It was more of what I wanted to happen, really. I'll admit it; I'm completely Fire biased. Come on, Kenn. Cut me some slack.
And from that page I learn that the teams don't share the money if they end up going out in the same round, unless two tiebreakers fail to break the tie: As I read this, the second tiebreaker is meaningless for the amateur division because it is the lowest division. So tiebreaker number 1 is the only one that really applies and as I read it, Carolina and Roma currently have the same number of such victories, i.e., two. Carolina's "higher division" victories were over a USL-2 and a USL-1, whereas Roma's "higher division" victories were over a USL-1 and an MLS. It doesn't matter than Roma's two victories were over teams from higher divisions than the two "higher" teams that Carolina beat because the tiebreaker seems to lump all "opponents from a higher division" into one category. An amateur team's victory over a USL-2 team is just as good as a victory over an MLS team as far as this tiebreaker is concerned. If Carolina loses to Houston, then, they will share the money 50/50.
