GREAT news for the Metros, bad news for Ben and DC. He played very well on thursday against us and can cause many problems. Glad to see that we dont have to face him for the USOC game but also upset from a general soccer fan viewpoint to see him injured again. He cant seem to catch a break.

    Williams - yellow card accumulations

    D.C.:
    Rimando
    Olsen

    any others?

I don't think Williams is out, isn't the point system just for MLS games?

Yeah i think Williams is only out of the next regular season match against Dallas. I would like to see him sit the bench against DC though.

In the USOC, an accumulation of three yellow cards is a suspension. Unless he was carded in every game so far, he will be available.

According to the Star-Ledger, Williams is out.

Midfielder Richie Williams also is suspended for the Open Cup match, which will be played at Rutgers' Yurcak Field at 7:30 p.m.

EDIT: I just checked the match reports. Richie received yellows during the MM Bucks game and the NE Revs game but not the game against the Crew. So ... either the Star-Ledger is wrong or my info. about a 3 card accumulation is wrong. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Both Williams and Lisi are out for collecting two yellows in three games. Best guess at the midfield is:

    Clark

    Leitch Guevara Barto

    Gaven

I see they removed Mathis from the line-up but (probably since I didn't mention it) Ben Olsen is still listed.

Outlook: The Metros snatched the momentum in this mini-series when Mike Magee's equalizer salvaged a draw Sunday. The first half of Sunday's game provided a good blueprint for the Metros to follow, smother D.C. United's playmaker while attacking on the left flank. The loss of Ben Olsen severely hampers D.C.'s ability to attack from the wings and will place even more pressure on Marco Etcheverry to create scoring chances. Playing their third match in seven days makes starting Joe Addo unlikely so look for the Metros to go with a 4-4-2. Andrzej Juskowiak should get his first start and must begin showing the form that made him a fixture in Europe for so many years. If the Polish striker produces, the Metros will be on their way to the U.S. Open Cup final. Metros 2, D.C. United 1.

Far more likley one of the Metro who scored before will score again. Look for Magee, Woly, Gavin and even Guevara to go for it tonight.

Give Junko 15 - 20 minutes, If he looks the same as he has the other times he's been out there, sack him. We have spent the whole season getting to this point and to look to some new guy who used to be something is just ignorant. Maybe we're cynical but we've seen too many washed up overpaid FA's that can't cut it.

    Now is not development time.
Now is not the time to bring someone along.
Now is the time to put it in the back of the net.
That's it. Anything else is just not on the menu tonight.

Maybe if he posts results without an [R], he'll get red carded.
