http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=27894&itype= Revas get a bye to the 4th round an begin play on August 6th All 10 MLS teams are in the tourney with DC an the Metros starting play a round earlier.
thats bull, DC and NY shouldn't be in it. NE wasn't in it last year cuz of the poor record, why should they be in it.
I hope someone televises a good number of games. The FA Cup games are great to watch. Just think of the Mid-Michigan Bucks beating the Revs 1-0 -- what great tv that would have been. I think Fox Sports World did some of the games last year, didn't they? I don't know, becuase I didn't have FSW then.
I don't find any real joy in setting the record straight, but here goes again: New England had an opportunity to qualify for the tournament. All they had to do was do better than two of Colorado, DC, and Kansas City, and they didn't. They weren't in it because of their poor record for the previous season, but rather because they were total crap for the first part of the season. Consider that the equivalent of having to play an extra round, as DC and the Metros do this year.
Re: Re: US Open Cup Format set Even though we did have a chance to qualify for the tournament last year (and, agreed, we were total crap back then) I thought that the league should enter all 10 teams. I thought that they were trying to do the Open Cup "on the cheap" last year, when they should be doing as much as possible to extoll the significance of the tournament.
Re: Re: Re: US Open Cup Format set I totally agree with you, and furthermore, I'd love to see every USL team in it as well, though that's harder to achieve. I was just refuting the claim that the Revs didn't have a chance to be in the tournament.
