Morris in the 11. Turner over Schulte in goal.

Looks like Bradley’s “empty bucket” of years gone by.

Edit: Dammit! Won’t let me post it.

Hopefully this is the end of the USMNT playing in Cincinnati.

Cinci has now hosted [checks Wikipedia] four MNT matches and two WNT matches, and they still don’t know the etiquette of not wearing club gear. Lots of F*CKY shirts.

Grr. They could have played Turner on Saturday and Schulte tonight and let Pat play vs Seattle.

I refer you to the insanely laughable text message I got about how "The Haslams were too cheap for US-Mexico" and as a result, "the next few US-Mex games will be in Cincinnati and then maybe they'll move to LA or Dallas or somewhere because" was it the NFL/MLS connection? At that point, I was laughing too hard to read it.

Have we had a US game since the freezing WCQ?

Shitty atmosphere, thousands of empty seats, unknowledgeable fans, what else could USMNT ask for?

They wanted the best passing goalie to face Marsch's press, per Varas

After New Zealand’s goal-off-a-deflection, I heard a US fan yell:
    NEW ZEALAND IS AUSTRALIA’S CANADA!!

Unreal that we gave up that garbage goal, and blew our lead.

    SheBelieves Cup, not the MNT.

Honestly, WCQs are a relic of a bygone era. With the 48-team WC expansion, the US will essentially be an automatic qualifier in future cycles. Group stage for Gold Cup is likely the only set of competitive matches that MLS stadia will have an opportunity to host going forward. Concacaf is hellbent on putting knockout games and Copa America in NFL venues.

If the USSF was serious about improving the MNT product, the right thing to do would be scheduling more friendlies against major soccer nations, like Jurgen insisted on doing in his tenure. More matches against regional minnows in half-empty stadiums (because ticket prices are insane) won't make them any better.

All those games will be going to Brook Park anyway though.

It's near impossible to book such friendlies. The 4 nations that had no competitive matches this window were USA, NZ, Mexico, and Canada.

Don't forget Panama (the other seeded team in the Nations League), which I think decided to not even bother and skipped this window entirely.

And look at who the US plays in the October window: friendlies against Panama and Mexico. (Panama plays us and Canada.)

Some of these windows have really become impossible to schedule friendlies in.

I’ve lost all interest in the USMNT. Wake me up when they have a team that gives a shit.

    I haven’t watched a US friendly since… I can’t remember when. A couple years at least.

Yes--just not "on goal"/ I recall seeing a radar gun at Berlin's Olympic Stadium when Schalke was playing Hertha. 156 kph.

Mods, can we replace this with a Pochettino Era thread? The sede is no longer vacante.

I thought that this thread was the Pochettino Era thread. I was all ready to mute it in like four days.
