Thanks for all of the advice everyone on the cab from near the stadium. We are a couple of exits up from the stadium and I doubt we'll be wanting to wait for buses. Anyway, see many of you Friday night.
Jag bombs? ICBs man ... ICBs! I'll have an extra ticket to get rid of as well. And good to know you'll be there as well kreade. (NH representing!)
Sorry if you've already seen it, but once again, here is the flyer with prices for US Supporters/Sam's Army at O'Shaughnessy's ... http://www.v-armyonline.com/O'Shaughnessy's Sam's Army.pdf
http://www.ospub.com/howtofindus.php good area map... figure on $5-$10 depending on if you get a surface lot or parking garage... the easiest might be the Front Street Garage(not sure about cost there 'cuz as a local I refuse to pay to park so i park in areas NOT on that pretty map ) from the front street garage you can exit onto Nationwide Blvd, see # 6 on the map (and FYI there's an ATM in the entrance) cross the street and walk a couple hundred feet and you're in front of O's. be aware that O's can not be seen from Front St and not easily from Nationwide...
O's also accepts credit cards, so there's really no need to stop at the ATM. Just north of O's, there's a bridge, as Front Street crosses over the train tracks. There's another garage on the north east side of the bridge that you can use as well.
Let me also offer a warning. Please DO NOT drink & drive. If you are staying downtown someplace, take a cab to O'Shaughnessy's and then back to your hotel -- hell, do that no matter where you are staying. A cab from most of the places you all are staying is going to cost from anywhere a measley $5 to a reasonable $15 bucks. Due to the fact it's Labor Day weekend there are going to be cops galore all over this beautiful town -- they talked about an increased presence last night on the news -- and with the OSU game on Saturday morning they'll be out in force even more knowing folks are out drinking preparing for the game the night before.
I second this. Either find someone who doesn't want to drink, or share a cab. Also, the OSU area (and probably more parts of town) will be swarming with undercover police.
unless you want/need cash i suggested the front street garage because it's the easy to find and it has the easiest route to O'Sha's for out of towners the KISS rule should always apply when providing out of towners directions/suggestions
Daizy suggested that for out of towners if you get lost or need to ask locals for direction use Nationwide Arena for a point of reference. O's is on the east side which is the opposite side of the arena from the Cirque Du Soleil tents.
2 NY + 1 MA = 3 We arrive 6PM will eat dinner there and stay for happy hour. (how's the food there? I'm picky) We're staying at the Hyatt downtown Columbus.
Food is excellent. Pub cuisine, but not your dive bar standard fare. I suggest the fish and chips. I will see you there at 6.
Some questions: - I will be at O'Shaughnessy's for dinner and drinks afterwards, but I may leave around midnight because I want to check out the night life there a bit. So, i'd like to know what good clubs, by that I mean dance clubs, where people dance under lights, NYC style? (Friday & Saturday) - I'm a sucker for german beer, so since Columbus has a rich tradition in german things, where is the best place to get authentic german beer on tap? (Friday and Saturday) - Whats the earliest the stadium parking lot opens for tailgating? (Saturday)
