Very reminscent of the U17 defeats to El Tri in '17 and '19 where they gave away wins after early leads. Yuck. So disappointing.

Most alarming is probably that El Tri looks better after a 5 year dip in U20 cycles (maybe 7 year dip), while we're plateauing (at best).

Also have to put some blame on the players in the back for terrible passes at the end of the game. I counted multiple times that a relatively easy pass would have resulted in a one on one w/ the GK. Not sure how we can score at this point. We can't even hold onto the ball. Looks inevitable after that back breaker. Nearly two minutes beyond the 5. Brutal.

I didn't realize this was being played in Mexico. Maybe it is home cooking.

And why, in these youth comps, do they always manage to find one of the few bad pitches in the country? It's not like they're one of the nations lacking soccer infrastructure.

None of those things (as bad as they are) matter 1/10 as much as an idiot ref giving multiple extra minutes of injury time because he doesn't want to get his --- kicked in the parking lot when he's leaving.

Well, for what is I assume travel reasons, they played it at a total of two stadiums. But one had to be moved because they put it into a gang warzone, so kudos to the FMF and CONCACAF for that.

But since they play on two fields, it's absolute crap by like the third day. By the title game, it's not really useable.

Yes, but I would have liked our 4th consecutive championship, WHICH WE WON TODAY and were robbed of, pending the result (and in my experience, when this happens, our team always loses).

  11. It's the rainy season in Central Mexico. Shoulda known better.

It was a bumpy field from the 1st match I watched. Thus I though it was in El Salvador.

Never got the hype for Habroune. He takes too many touches thru traffic & doesn't have the physical talent, skill, or vision to pull that off.

Doesn't have a versatile attribute-set. Telling when the excuse for his underwhelming play earlier is he's only an 8. If anything, he's that, but he's not even very good of one. Doesn't have a clear strength.

This is one of the worst US teams I have seen in quite some time. They have zero composure on the ball and Mexico has out played them in every facet of the game. Mexico was lucky to get that goal at the end, but they deserve to win.

Our midfield has lost the plot a bit. Just way more nervous than the occasion demands.

The good news is that Berchimas is going to be really good. Once he gets a bit more experience.

They played 2 days ago, and Nsien barely rotated. His player usage has been inexplicable & tactical approach down the stretch cynical.

We also are notorious for being disproportionately impacted by shoddy fields we're not accustomed to.

I don't think they're good or even necessarily average for one of our teams, but I don't think they're one of the worst either. I'd say mediocre. A better coach gets significantly more out of the group.

He's improved a lot since the u-17's to be a decent option, at the youth level at least. Still don't know about the seniors. But after Yow, nobody should be totally written off.

We're not sure why many of the players selected were selected. Only 7 of them are 2005s. It's been the most questionable roster I have ever seen.
