Why are we giving them possession? They are not good enough for us to be giving them tis much respect.
Is there any way to argue that was anything other than "home town cooking until Mexico can find a goal"?
Controversy in the CONCACAF final, as Mexico get a minute and a half extra, & they take full advantage. I was hating the way the US were finishing out that game though. Kept just clearing it to the keeper, not to the sideline, let alone playing to a teammate. And a lot of weak clearances.
There's gonna be a time eventually with concacrap when you should do what Panama should've done during the 2015 Gold Cup against Mexico, and just leave the field. Of course Panama's claim was stronger as that '15 Gold Cup was such a ridiculous epic screw job it beggars belief. This is a ref just milking as many minutes as possible for El Tri to score so he doesn't get the ---- kicked out of him on the way back to his car.
absolutely horrible strategy down the stretch from the usa what was that? the us was doing fine keeping the ball but decided it would rather not possess ?? low IQ strategy there there's NOTHING i hate more about the us style of play than thinking bunkering in late with a lead is a good idea...especially in a situation like this when the team is great at possession and doesnt have a problem keeping the ball if they wanted to!! just a horrible coaching job there imo
i dont want young players learning this !!! its more upsetting as a us fan that these players are learning to play like this than whatever the result is USA are fear merchants in soccer
Not really, how many times did Germany win matches from the sixties into the 2000's despite playing like crap. Teams win all the time despite playing inferior. If I'm an El Tri fan my takeaway is: #1: This performance was vastly better than the '17, '19, and '22 U20 WC's, great job. #2: That was highway robbery, and keep your mouth shut and own it (like us getting a total bull---- call in a win over Canada in the '07 Gold Cup, or the draw with Jamaica in '21 WC Qualifier off a phantom call to waive off a legit Jamaica winner).
The way we played there is what I mean. Sure that should have been over but we set ourselves up for it. Dumb.
I'm not a fan of the way he's managed this tourney. He's got some fortune w/ finishing limited chances & Beaudry coming up w/ heroics. Tactics & player usage has left a lot to be desired. Such a shame Varas was marginalized as a US senior assistant. Would have had more impact as u20 & u23 manager.
