"Annapolis Blues are excited to continue to grow the world's game in Naptown by launching a USL W League team in 2025,” said Michael Hitchcock, Owner & Managing Partner. “The addition of the women's team will bring more high-level soccer games and fun tailgate opportunities to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium next summer while providing the chance for local women players to play in front of thousands of fans and represent Annapolis against some of the best players in the region." On January 8, 2025, Chicago Dutch Lions FC and Chicago City Soccer Club announced a landmark partnership that will unite their strengths to provide a comprehensive pathway for soccer players from grassroots to the professional level. Chicago City SC is a leading soccer organization in the Chicago with around 1.200 players in their youth programs. They also play in the prestigious ECNL. The collaboration will focus on the path from youth to USL 2 men’s league and the USL W League women’s league, and then potentially professional clubs in the US and Europe through our extensive network. The integrated structure will support the growth and development of players, coaches, and the soccer community across Chicagoland.

Last year, we had an incredible 11,171 fans at the Annapolis Blues Home Opener at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. It was a special night and one of the highlights of my soccer management career. This year, Blues are launching a women's team and May 31st is a Doubleheader. Blues have launched a Shell Out campaign where we're trying to get 12k+ fans to Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. Tickets are on sale now. It'll be a special night of soccer in Naptown.

Over 3,000 fans attended the Roseville Iron Rose women's team Home Opener last Saturday. Iron Rose, a WPSL Team, has an innovative partnership with Roseville Youth Club and a small but talented Front Office who are doing big things to grow the game in Roseville, California. Best wishes for a successful season, on and off the field.

I am understanding that my local Clarkstown (WPSL) who have won their division (7 wins and 1 loss) might not elect to participate in the playoffs as they have quite a number of D1 players who must report early to their respective college programs. I suspect that this issue of college programs needing to have their players report early is a problem that will only get worse.
