And now Duncan Turnbull is making his debut. He's a beast. 6'7".

Here's an interview with Duncan when he arrived at Portsmouth. Former Notre Dame keeper. Played for the Sockers in the Development Academy. Also had a brief spell with the Chicago Fire as a youth, and was actually drafted by the Fire in the 3rd round. Not signed by them it seems.

Welp. Probably not good. Turnbull substituted after Pompey went down 4-0.
Although the fans in the comments don't seem to blame Duncan.

Well Portsmouth is what the third division? Cervi was going to be good based only on the fact that he's tall and "Celtic" next to his name....

    Bentley's Roof
It's an EFL trophy game where they are down 4-0 against a fullish strengthPeterborough team

The other keeper was making his debut as well.

Probably a pre-planned change or the manager took advantage of the score

Details of Jesse Gonzalez' termination are still a bit of a mystery to me.
He was suspended and then terminated due to a domestic violence allegation. I can't find evidence that he was charged by the police or was found guilty of anything. All I know is it FCD and all of MLS shunned him. So now he has to try to pick up the pieces and start over. Best of luck to him. Hopefully this move works out.

Whatever that was, it's gone 30 minutes later!

Edit: weird, it's showing up fine when I quote it...

Report from Hungary: Jesse Gonzalez is closing in on a move to Budapest Honvéd FC. The American goalkeeper was released by FC Dallas after domestic violence issues in 2020. Honved currently sits in 10th in Hungary's top flight.

"FC Dallas insider-types" indicate the allegations against Jesse Gonzalez were so severe that he will never play for a domestic team or the USMNT ever again. To a man they all say very nasty things about him as a human being. So I suspect his options have been very limited, and maybe even Hungary will close for him..........................regardless of whether he was charged or not.

His loss will be Matt Turner's gain.

Well Turner fans get their wish. But not sure we will see much. T&T is pretty weak right now. There is no way they should put any pressure on us tomorrow.

But we can at least see how Matt distributes the ball and organizes the defense.

Stopped a PK, his only real test today. But, it checks off the "desire to see more intensifies" box. Number two is a free for all, but he just gave Horvath a bump on the shoulder for that number two spot.

He’s ahead of Horvath because he’s played in the last two years.

Well that was one hell of a shoulder bump because Turner just knocked off Horvath off the log.

Honestly, Ethan Horvath is dead to me now. We might as will give those call ups to Odunze and Santos, maybe even Cohen, if we need an American keeper playing in Europe. We should have no use for a keeper who has no desire to play.

My point was more than Turner has it because he plays more than once a year.

I think thats a bit, no make that a lot, unfair to Horvath. I have seen zero indication that he "doesn't want to play." When he has been given a chance he has played fine. He is just stuck in a horrible situation with Brugge.
