Try to keep this objective if possible, but which of the three partners to Jozy have done the best? I personally do not think any of them have stood out head over heals, but I was impressed with Gomez today.

Buddle looked ok, but did not bring anything dynamic to the game today and did not look great on the ball.

Findley stretches the field for others, but has not been great on the ball either.

Gomez looked the best of the three on the ball, but was not as good as Findley off the ball.

We are going to need one of these guys to really play well with Jozy to advance. I don't think any of them hold a candle to the work Jozy put in today. If he plays like this we are a serious threat to advance deeper, particularly against a weaker half of the bracket (hoping)

I love Buddle, but I think he had a pretty dreadful second half. He's better than that...nerves? Though Gomez did quite well in the first half.

I liked Gomez, he's creative. Not sure why Bradley subbed him.
Buddle did not impress like I thought he would.

I really feel like none of the three of done a ton to distinguish themselves, but I like Gomez's ambition and movement off the ball. Also, I just feel like he is probably our most reliable finisher of all our forwards. Buddle has looked effective in spurts, but hasn't strung together a great game or half yet. Findley has added absolutely nothing IMO.

I guess I would go with:
    1. Gomez
    2. Buddle
    3. Findley

But I think Feilhaber added a lot today, and there's always Holden as well, so I think we could continue to see Dempsey pushed up to forward in some late game situations, which I'm okay with.

Feilhaber played amazing! Always making chances and causing trouble. I think Dempsey should start up top.

I don't think Buddle was dreadful. as a matter of fact, he did more in his 25 or so minutes than Findley did in a game and a half.

As for Gomez off the ball: It was his run that freed Bradley for the goal vs. Slovenia. I'll take Buddle or Gomez over Fibdley. Please!!!!!

I think Bradley starts Altidore/Gomez. Findley gets the second half sub.

You are kidding, right? I like Buddle but he was off AND looked slow. Findley at least created a few dangerous moments. Unfortunately, I think Clint is best up top but only later in the game. When he starts there, I don't think he is the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Findley only play the first half of the first 2 games? Not a game and a half like you claim. So much soccer, I could be mistaken.

I do not see Buddle getting paired with Altidore again.

I think we'll start Findley, sub Benny at halftime and move Dempsey up. Gomez comes on for the last 15. Who he comes on for depends on what the score is.

Findley got subbed in like the 70' against England and at half against Slovenia.

Personally I thought Gomez is the best of the 3 options. We are going to need a poacher in the knockout rounds and he always seems to find the dangerous spots.

Well your wrong on both accounts... Buddle was not slow nor off. As a matter of fact he almost had the game winner off his head earlier in the match. I like the pairing of Jozy/Buddle if Buddle can keep up his hold up play. Gomez/Findley are sub options.

But we all know Bradley is going back to Findley's worthless *** on saturday rain or shine!

Gomez looked like the better partner for Jozy, Findley only has speed to his game but this experience should help him in the long haul. Buddle? I don't get excited about a 28 yr old that did well in one MLS season. He wasnt as horrible as I thought, and the idea of pushing Dempsey up top in the second half is a good one. Let him start on the flank and push up if we need a goal.

so if we want to use one play to say whether or not a player was good/effective, I guess I will throw in the ball Buddle played out for a goalkick when he was under absolutely no pressure. And regardless of what you think, I thought he looked slow afoot and you will never change my mind.

Buddle has an incredible knack for finding the ball with his head. Kind of like a good rebounder (Rodman). I don't think he's going to get any more time though. I don't think he showed anything special.

    Jozy/Gomez start

Findley should come on as a sub. He is so dangerous when the other team is getting tired.

Jozy is tired. Sorry. He was crap today. We have to assume 120 minutes Saturday just two days rest Start Buddle alone and five mids One of Holden Benny. Or Torres at all times regardless of who it is. Jozy at 60. Gomez at 75

I'd rate Findley and Buddle on the same level in regards to chemistry with Jozy. On the long clearance from Howard which fell in behind Algeria for Buddle, he passed behind Jozy. Very similar to Findley's bonehead pass against Slovenia. However, I rate Buddle's finishing way ahead of Findley, Buddle at least had a shot on goal today.

Gomez, is my favorite. He has a good shot, good passing, and smart runs. Jozy, Gomez, and Dempsey have come the closest to forming a proper striker partnership. When Findley and Jozy play together I get the feeling of two players out there doing their own thing with no real combination play.

I was really excited about this game to see Jozy with a new strike partner, and he had his best game so far for a full 90. Will we see that Jozy again while partnered with Findley? By my count its been about 10 minutes from the England game.

Findley Helps with speed and opens up the game..

Gomez cuts well and i think with Gomez we create more offensive chances... I think nerves got the best of Gomez today because on a regular day the shot before Clint's called back goal was powerful but no direction...

But i think the best pairing has been Gomez and Altidore

Buddle is another Altidore but slower and not as strong...

The best scoring chances between Altidore and another attacker came in combination with DEMPSEY.

Dempsey's shot off the post today came after a pass from Altidore. Donovan's winning goal came when Dempsey's attempted finish of Altidore's cross was blocked by the keeper.

So, if you are looking for the truly best partner for Altidore, look to Dempsey.

Of the others, I'd rank them:

    2. Gomez, by a nose. Looked solid today.
    3. Buddle, frees Altidore to play second-striker more.
    4. Findley, doesn't really combine well with Jozy, and forces Jozy to play target-striker full time.
