His visa was denied - Frankensteins are not allowed in Brazil.

If Chandler's injured, I'd replace him with Parkhurst or Donovan. Frankly bringing back Landon at this point might be too big a distraction, too close to the first match.

Maybe he took Jurgen's "sex is allowed" statement as a competition and pulled a hammy while trying to get the most foreign notches in his belt?

So you're saying he scored in Brazil?

    From mlssoccer.com:

In other news from the US camp on Wednesday, defender Timmy Chandler skipped training as a precaution after taking a knock during workouts on Tuesday. He is expected to return Thursday, according to a US spokesman.

First things first: how do people from Ghana feel about Frankenstein?

The injury has to be serious enough to prevent you from playing in the tourney, not just the first game, and has to be verified by FIFA medical staff. A routine knock is not going to cut it.

It was a knock - not sure that's serious enough especially since he did individual training today.

Well the rules aren't clear - it doesn't say whole tournament. This is what it says:
"The FIFA Medical Committee shall approve the
request if the injury is sufficiently serious to prevent the player from taking part
    in the competition."

My interpretation is that if the player can't play in the first game (of a 3 game tournament), then that is enough. Or if they can't play in the first two games then surely that counts.

It's all academic at this point, because US considers the injury minor - probably because Jurgen doesn't want to call Landon in at this late date.

It is academic, but those words are almost impossible to interpret the way you are trying to interpret them. "The competition" does not mean "the first game". "Serious" does not mean "minor".

Really? It doesn't say the "entire competition". And being unfit enough to miss a game is by definition serious, at least my definition of it.

Is this why Donovan isn't on the panel on ESPN?? (Think about it... :))

If someone can't play in the first game, how can any FIFA doctor know for sure that he will be able to play in game 2 or 3? It's all subjective. If a player is hurt and says he can't play, he's hurt - no FIFA doctor is going to say he's not hurt (unless it's a case of tennis elbow, a knee scrape or something like that).

That's more of a "mad scientist" thing than a "witch doctor" thing.

I'm tempted to keep him on even if he's not 100% purely out of fear that the replacement would be Evans. At least a dinged-up Chandler could contribute later in the tournament and/or chip in 10-15 minutes.

If he does have to go home, who is the replacement? Evans or Parkhurst would be a straight swap position-wise, alternatively Jurgen could bring in Goodson or even Edu with an eye towards sliding Cameron out to RB (and FJ to LB) if need be. For my money Edu would be the best bet as he would provide additional cover at CM (which is needed if we stick with the 4-4-1-1 we used against Nigeria) and on the back line.
