I suspect you could throw a lot of MLS names into a hat and pull them out at random and be as close to being right as anyone else. As I mentioned in another thread, I think Bruce starts from scratch on this one and I wouldn't be surprised if no Euro based players are included save perhaps Gibbs or Cherundolo.

    Here goes my guess:

    Tim Howard
    Carlos Bocanegra
    Ryan Suarez
    Corey Gibbs
    Steve Cherundolo
    Pablo Mastroeni
    Bobby Convey
    DaMarcus Beasley
Santino Quaranta (If healthy and in-country)
    Taylor Twellman
    Clint Mathis
    Landon Donovan (If in-country)
    Kyle Martino
    Brad Davis
    Wade Barrett
    Joe Cannon

one of the stories I read on Mathis hinted that he'd be there and mathis seemed to talk like he was playing. but then again, that one should be pretty obvious.

Isn't the U-20 team in camp at the same time?

yea pretty much...not sure of the exact timetable set up for the u-20 camp but their qualifiers are from nov 13-17th in charleston so i would imagine they will have a camp beforehand for maybe a month? i have not seen anything posted in the junior forum about a camp yet but i am only guess...

I believe they also announced on-air last night during the Galaxy/Rapids game that Danny Califf and Sasha Victorine had been called into camp.

I'd expect the pre-game camp for this one will consist of about 30 players, 12 of whom will be cut before the game (ie, won't make the game roster). Arena will be looking at lots of folks over the next few years. This camp will only have domestic-based players. Mostly younger guys, with the few seasoned veterans there for leadership.

i think the "seasoned veterans" we will will see are guys that were considered 'young' during the last cycle.

    i.e: clint mathis, mastroeni, etc.

I've never understood what exactly is so good about Califf. I've seen him play several times and I wasn't impressed all that much. Could someone explain the upside to Califf? I definately think Boca is much better. I'm pretty sure he'll be called in.

Chris has looked good this season and last season. What are everyone's thoughts on him being called in?

Didn't Califf get his first call during the Gold Cup against S Korea? And didn't he give up a PK (which was struck right down the middle and Keller stopped I might add)?

Califf was on the Olympic team during Sydney 2000 and has been playing quite well the past few months. He is still young, younger than Victorine. He has size, can get forward for corners and plays hard. Yeah, he has been known to give up PK's, but I think he has a future in the NATS. He has been playing next to Tyronne Marshall and Alexi Lalas who have helped him along big time this year.

    Request for comments:

Will we ever see Jason Kreis on national duty again?

Is Cunningham healthy and available? Will we likely see him get an invite?

Quaranta has been invited to camps, hasn't he? When can we expect him to make a friendly roster?

With all the great young players now developing, I'm really salivating at our prospects for 2006.

May just be coincidence but I have noticed that since Kansas City won in 2000 Bruce has made a point of calling in several new players from the roster of the champion. I believe he called in Nick Garcia, Brandon Prideaux (turned down because of injury), Matt Mckeon (turned down because of injury), Kerry Zavagnin, Chris Klein. Tony Meola, and maybe Preki. After San Jose won last year he called up Richard Mulrooney, Landon, Wade Barrett, Jeff Agoos and Cannon (maybe more I can't remember).
Perhaps this is Bruce's way of sticking to the "you play well for club, then you get called in for country" promise.

Mario, what's up with that? Don't they have an interim coach? Any prospects?

No. Not ever, NEVER. He's too important to the Burn to waste in national team camp, since there's no future for him there.

    Jason is a Burn player.

    Club before country.

Apparently the Crew are expecting 6-7 players to be called into camp. Including Martino, possibly. That's the rumor, anyway.

I get the distinct impression that a huge number of players will be called into camp for this one.
