It seems both teams are getting tired... the ball is lost way too quickly.

Minnows? No sir, we don't have "minnows" in CONMEBOL.

Ask UEFA or CONCACAF. They have an ample supply. :D

    Exactly.

Another draw, but I thought this was more entertaining, I liked some peruvian players, like that Advíncula guy, and Vargas came in well into the match.

Dude had an interesting second half... you have to consider he was battling on that side against Caceres, plus the help coming from Victorino and Lugano at times. He showed personality.

Advincula is a workhorse, but he lacks confidence to go forward and face his marking player. I don't know how many times he had the chance to go up against an uruguayan, but he stopped himself from doing that and passed it back.

Guerrero MOTM of course. He almost makes it at the end with that header. Good match.

Agreed. His ability to keep the whole Uruguayan defensive line busy all by himself was amazing.

I hadn't seen Advíncula before, but I liked what I saw from him, he may need to be more consistent with his runs into attack, when he did it he did it well, but I still liked him.

Who the fuck is Claudio Pizarro? :D

Paolo turns it on for Peru. Yeah, the way he just held up the ball facing his back to the yoruguas defense was great. They just couldn't take it away from him.

Great result for the Peruvians. Perhaps with most teams looking sluggish in attack they can surprise. They might be the 2004 Greece of this tourny, especially if Guerrero can play the way he did today. If only they had some wingers, yes Vargas is good but the other wingers had some opportunities to take players on or cross and they did neither.

With that being said Uruguay was solid, their forward line will cause problems for anyone but they seem shakey at the back at times, Peru looked dangerous on the counter. I think ppl opverrate the Uruguayans due to their performance in SA, but tbh they were ok but Forlan had mastered the Jabulani.

ah man i miss farfan and pizarro, guerrero needs 'socios' up front , all by himself in there

I mean there are definately better players than him in that position for our NT, pretty much 90% of Peru think its a mistake putting him on but I guess Markarian appreciates his attitude and defensive work.
