Last night at thr RBNY v Union game, they gave away a small Upper Deck soccer card Red Bull team sets. The Philadelphia Union did the same thing about six weeks ago. I curious if any of the other MLS teams did a similar promotion and gave away Upper Deck team sets or other soccer cards this year. If so, I would be willing to purchase and or trade for them.
It so happens that I can help you out with the Upper Deck Soccer Cards you are looking for and would be happy to send them out to a fellow collector. Let me know where to send them to and I'll get them in the mail this week.
where do they even sell this stuff? I haven't see BASEBALL cards in a least a decade - or is all box sets purchased by fat dudes in Hawaiian shirts at memorabilia conventions?

Well.... First off, I am not a "fat dude" at all. Secondly, I have never in my life worn a Hawaiian shirt. Lastly, I do not hang out at memorabilia conventions. I collect MLS stuff with my two sons. It is something that they both enjoy, and gives me a "thing" that we can do together.
I've seen collector cards for sports and games (i.e. Pokemon) by the registers at Target, WalMart, etc.
I work with a lot of kids that collect soccer cards (with their dads usually) - and there are some really cool multiple jersey and auto cards that are amazing. You can buy cards at pretty much any hobby store, and sometimes Upper Deck (the company that makes them) has special deals - I think they have an offer now where you get a cool 1 of 1 plate card when you buy 3 boxes on line... http://store.upperdeck.com/store/So...1_Upper_Deck_Soccer_3_Box_Bundle___78995?Args=
