What a great series, can’t wait for season 2

After a rushed deliberation with his shallow girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards), he chooses to be uploaded to her family’s luxurious virtual afterlife, the Horizen company’s “Lakeview.” Once uploaded in Lakeview, Nathan meets his customer service “Angel” Nora Anthony (Andy Allo), who at first is his charismatic concierge and guide, but quickly becomes his friend and confidante, helping him navigate this new digital extension of life.

I didn't really check this one out until recently as the preview was not great, and it was easy to paint it as "Black Mirror: Romantic Comedy edition" or "Cynical The Good Place."

I've not quite finished the season, but this show does make an interesting contrast with Space Force when comparing Greg Daniel's foray into science fiction sitcom. Space Force was extremely unbalanced and struggled in part because of its large underutilized cast. I didn't dislike Space Force, but I didn't really like it either.

This show on the other hand, while far from perfect, does a much better job of committing to a narrower story (important with 10 episode seasons) and is really carried by the chemistry of a smaller (both in number and profile) cast, especially the two leads. This show has a good mix of charm, concept and humor that makes it easy viewing and can hopefully be built on.
