Upgrade and Bugs

Well, I sure thought it was a bug becuase I did not see it elsewhere. Not a very good plan, this is one of the most user friendly parts of the site.

Well it is faster than the worst day (yesterday) but still pretty slow and many times slower than before the "upgrade".

Pages still load slowly but then all the plain text appears in a second and the graphics fill in slowly after that. After the plain text loads and as the graphics fill in, the page "refocuses" so I don't even bother trying to read the text until the page finishes. It is slightly random. Sometimes the graphics (buttons, avatars, etc) load fairly quickly but in general they are slow. On a few different pages, they just never seem to load and I have to stop the process.

I haven't seen any improvement in the graphics load times in case you've changed things since your last comment.

 

OK. I ~think~ I may have found the problem. I know, I know, you've heard that before. Believe me we have a lot of folks looking into this and trying to track down the issue.

Hmm looks like huss dosen't use the busy script on his members anymore. I wonder if my behind the scenes regular members right movement had anything to do with it

 

So far so good today. Much better speed and graphics load times.

I'll wait a few days to see if you've fixed it for good.

yes, it apperars we finally tracked down the stupid image bug. word.

 

Well you may have spoken too soon. I've got this view again:


Shortly after it appeared my browser quit. Now it seems constant.

Back to normal now.

 

Was showing me the same thing until about 10 minutes ago.

 

Excellent, the load time is back to normal.

However, you appear to be missing WIDTH and HEIGHT attributes for all the images. This isn't critical, but it certainly is annoying--as it loads, the page jumps around like a monkey with fleas until everything is in place and the browser decides on the final page layout. I'll sometimes try to click a link while the page is loading and find it's moved out from under my cursor and I've clicked an ad instead. Good for your advertisers, I guess.

 

if i go to the search for all of my posts, it says i have 950-something. however, next to my name it says i have like 730-something. how come those 220 posts aren't included?

(sorry if this was already addressed but i couldnt find anything on it)
