Its been super-fast for me today. No loading problems either. The Remember Me thing still isn't working.
Well it is actually working prefectly today. I'm suspicious though because today is also the day I got a notice about needing to renew my BigSoccer membership! Huss obviously moved me back to the old reliable servers until he gets my cash. Then its off to the new servers with the fresh lemon scent but +18 slowness, right? What should I do?
Nah! It really does look like we solved the problem. All these servers talking to each other, it's very tough. Like relationships...or something. Anyway, glad the complaints are gone and sorry it took so damn long. Now, we can go back to focusing on the next big announcement coming your way. Actually, 2 of them.... Hmmmmmmnnnnnnn
Today and yesterday: The front page no longer seems to have the list of sub forums or the forum jump. This has been hit or miss for a while, but now it's consistent.
Huss, I was kidding with that but it has really happened. I sent in my renewal this morning and now the board is actually crawling again. I'm watching the smilies load one by one and waiting forever for pages to load. Did you change something since this morning?
Glacially slow again for me. It was fine for a couple days, and now it's taking minutes to load a page. My connection is VERY fast, and this is the only website with this problem. So ...
Yep. That is my situation since sometime this afternoon. I have cable connection and no problem anywhere else either. I pinged you and while you are at least 2-5 times slower than most other sites (even those overseas), it seems like its a problem with 2 things. One the page view and the second are site graphics. The page loads slowly and then refocuses. The pages load without graphics which then slowly fill in. While this is happening I can see the little "25 Items remaining to be downloaded..." or whatever the phrasing is down in the browsers status area. I almost never see that anywhere else except sites with massive graphics (1000s on a single page) or some modules (flash, etc) not tiny smilies and buttons.
It does seem a little bit slow. Oh and I am fine when I have to login once here at my course. It is just at home. I always have to login for some reason. But I can't log out of bigfooty.com
Im on global ignore, I believe thats a bug and wasn't intentional. It was probably a glitch in the system.
Speed: loading is slow and incremental, as described by Knave and Cannon, above Other problem still persists: the BS home page still does not load with the direct links to the forums, nor does it have forum jump. It's just the header, borders, and the current thread titles on the right boarder with the "journals" in the middle. The only way to browse the site is by clicking the "Boards" link at the top.
I'd kill for creepin' It is slower today than ever. I'm having to hit the stop button on pages because I don't feel like waiting minutes for a damn button to load. One page just hung on a button forever. It is only this site. I went through dozens of other sites including boards that seem to use the same technology as you and haven't had a problem anywhere else. I cleared out the cookies and checked through my java stuff. It is definetly a problem on your end. Something with the way you build pages and access graphics. I seem to have the slowest loads when I'm using the search feature to find a thread that I've posted in. Maybe the slowdown is related to the way it finds posts inside a thread.
The bottom of the page is still stalling by a few seconds (5-10 I'm guessing). Also, speed seems to be fairly good, but the first few pages I flipped through here took a bit.
We continue to see problems with the images loading. We are working on it. Please stop pointing out that the links are not on the HP. This is not a 'bug' and has been reported to be our plan elsewhere.
