I see a link to the "panic thread" in FFA on the main page "Latest From The Forum" list. ... I don't think we really want this, do we? Can we make www.bigsoccer.com/crew redirect to the Crew forum, please?
This is the link https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/forums/columbus-crew.14/ Similar string for all MLS teams.
Indeed it is...but for a long, long time, the forums for Indoor Soccer, Chicago Fire, and Columbus Crew all had shorter links. I know the Crew link was used on a regular basis, but I can't speak for the others. Those shorter links were: .com/fire .com/indoor .com/crew
15 minutes ago I got a symantec warning that BigSoccer was trying to mount a phishing attack, with a fullsized warning not to connect to the page.
I can't believe I'm going to complain about this, but I've seen issues with ads displaying properly. Sometimes they don't show up even when not using an ad blocker. The most annoying ads are hover over ads that have sound or decide to take up the entire screen though.
I got used to the avatars showing who started threads, and now it looks strange with them gone. I think I'd rather have them back.
Images and emoticons still aren't visible. Also, Tapatalk can't seem to connect to BigSoccer anymore.
Character limit is still quite restrictive. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/character-limit.1944899/
Is this new layout, with double the ads, staying? The two ads doubles the time for my page to load and causes the screen to jump up and down as the ads load. Who likes ads? I know they're needed for revenue and all, but the system has been slower, and therefore, less enjoyable.
They're not always displaying in the correct locations on some forums too. I don't mind ads that have videos in them too much (although they slow things down), but I can't stand audio on or hover over ads which take over the screen.
I don't have a good way to get you a screen shot, but for example just now in the MLS: N&A forum the same banner ad loaded above the sub-forum list and right below it. They're also loading a touch slower today as opposed to recent days, which is causing the thread list to jump up and down until they both load.
Just got more messages from Symantec that this site was considered unsafe and a phishing threat. I can't even tell whether the warning screen (which blocks out the whole screen) is itself malware, but I haven't seen it on other sites. Maybe it was because I was trying to read Bill Archer's blog!
