So, as I understand it, if we're going to add Wilson on 8-15, we have to make room for him by Friday. True?
The Revs release Cassio and Felix Brillant....both are Senior Internationals. Perhaps one of those moves was to open a roster spot for Steve Jolley???
Does the fact that Jolly did not play in the reserve match on Sunday give continued spectulation of his departure?
Without saying anything... as you can imagine I am working on it... but I certainly think you can read something into it.
Mark Wilson is still in town training with team on a tourist visa. He is living with Ronnie O and is on his own nickle. Once he signs he will then need a work visa which takes one to two weeks, IIRC.
Ok I talked to Colin. "We are working on the details of what we will do and should know one way or another in the next 24 hours." basically there are a couple options according to Colin (in the order I believe they are attempting each). 1. A trade; either move out a player for some kind of non-player asset in return, or trade an asset for cap room. 2. Some kind of agreement to waive the guarantee or set a predetermined buy out with a player that would allow them to carry him past the guarantee deadline without the guarantee. Ted Eck did this kind of deal once the season he was waived. 3. Cut someone now.
NE has open roster spots, but they are for SIs, right? I suppose they could pull in a domestic, but I would think they have eyes on some guys when the window opens. I think FCD should send Jolley to the Utah Burn for future draft picks or an allocation, if they have one or will get one. But to Chivas? Jolley deserves much more than that. He's a class act. In fact, I hate to lose him. Great backup for Vanney. I'd send Salyer. Moor and Rhine make him expendible, he needs to go somewhere he can play.
It won't be RSL. They are already adding an SI defender. Chivas, SJ, NE, or Columbus is still my guess. Chivas is putting all their money into the attack first. Even though NE has international slots open, I think they would be the most interested party.
Don't forget the Lalas Reunion Tour in Metro-land. They just cut two players earlier and recently moved Walker. They have added Tony, and would still have roster and cap room to add Jolley.
You are right it can't be Salyer, but there are other options that would get enough cap. Talley, Gbandi, and Rhine come to mind. But I will stand by the predcition that Rhine will never go anywhere until out of MLS as he is worth 10x off the field as to on. (no jokes abut 10x0=0 please) point being I would not assume it's Jolley, just cause he missed a few days. There could be another explination.
Well, I'd rather not lose any of the three mentioned above (scary that I'm saying that about Chris, but he really has turned it around.) As for Steve - is it *possible* that there is another option? Sure. And with this FO, who knows what will happen, other than I have faith in them to make the right moves. But if we're reading tea leaves, Jolley to Metroland makes sense, and Jolley anywhere for something makes more sense.
http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/MLS...ntent_id=34729&vkey=pr_rsl&fext=.jsp&team=rsl hum... interesting language.
If it's the Salt Lake Burn we might be sending Jolley to, what do they have to offer in return? Sending Jolley out would give us the cap space we need, right? Or would we want some cap room to use as buffer space in case Wilson is more expensive than Jolley or we want to pick up another piece (assuming we move Mulrooney to IR for the roster spot)? And does RSL have the cap space to trade? Do we even know, since contracts aren't public in MLS?
