@NycosmosCosmos played @UVA today in a friendly. Cosmos won 3-1. Goals from @MarcosSenna19 & Mads Stokkelien (2). Thanks to UVA for participating.
Yeah, a run out against some NCAA players..not quite the competition we had in UAE but at least it keeps the boys legs under them and some fitness and training before the opener. Even in pre-season i cant believe some MLS and NASL teams actually lose to these collegiate amateurs.

Cosmos start preseason with 2-0 win over Ararat defending NASL champions began preseason much like they ended their 2015 run — winning. Goals from Lucky Mkosana and Cosmos’ stalwart Sebastian Guenzatti were enough for New York to take their first preseason encounter this year, downing Ararat FC 2-0 in Glendora, California. http://www.empireofsoccer.com/cosmos-start-preseason-with-2-0-win-over-aratat-44952/
Let's get ready to RRRRRUUUUMMMMMBBBLLLLEEEEE!!!!! The Earthquakes are set to host North American Soccer League (NASL) side New York Cosmos Saturday, Feb. 27 at Avaya Stadium, a rematch of one of the fiercest rivalries in American soccer history. An all-star cast of Pele and George Best headlined this must-see bout during the mid-1970s and earlier 1980s. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs since 1984. COSMOS PREVAIL IN SECOND CALIFORNIA MATCH New York's strong first half was the difference against PDL side Fresno Fuego Wednesday night. http://www.nycosmos.com/news/2016/02/24/cosmos-prevail-in-second-california-match
COSMOS FALL TO QUAKES IN PRESEASON MATCH The New York Cosmos got their first taste of defeat in the 2016 preseason on Saturday night by closing out their West Coast trip with a 1-0 loss to Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes. Defender Clarence Goodson’s opportunistic finish early in the second half after a chaotic defensive effort from New York proved the difference. http://www.empireofsoccer.com/cosmos-lose-to-earthquakes-in-preseason-action-45146/ http://www.nycosmos.com/news/2016/02/27/cosmos-fall-to-quakes-in-preseason-match
I was able to catch some of the second half, including the goal. It was a sloppy one, the goal was an example of how sloppy we were. San Jose didn't dominate, but the Cosmos were not much of a threat either. I think Geo is still tinkering with the lineup and formation, hope we can get a few more games before the season, we do need it.

heard Cosmos took that scrimmage against Miami unite FC 3-0, Duk had a brace and Bover scored as well. Glad they were able to get another game under their belt, even if it wasn't a top level team.

New York Cosmos: Florida Camp Roundup The New York Cosmos are home again after spending the past week training in Florida. In that brief trip to the Sunshine State, the club played Miami United FC of the NPSL and Boca Raton FC from the APSL, posting identical 3-0 victories in both maches. The convincing scorelines show definite progress after the Cosmos lost their previous preseason outing to the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0. http://www.empireofsoccer.com/new-york-cosmos-florida-camp-roundup-45720/
Garbanzo Leads Battery to Victory against Cosmos The Charleston Battery got a pair of goals from Ricardo Garbanzo as they took a 3-0 victory against the New York Cosmos on Saturday night at MUSC Health Stadium. Maikel Chang provided assists on both of Garbanzo’s goals, while Dante Marini wrapped up the win that concluded the preseason for the four-time USL champions. http://www.uslsoccer.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=32800&ATCLID=210817581
New York Cosmos Preseason Recap The New York Cosmos wrapped up their preseason this past weekend with a 3-0 loss to the USL’s Charleston Battery. The away result was the most lopsided defeat for the Cosmos, who finished with five wins and two loses overall in a preseason that saw the club also travel to California and Florida. Notably, their only losses of the preseason came in their only matchups with U.S.-based professional competition. The club easily dispatched Armenian first division side, FC Ararat, but dropped a tune up to MLS’ San Jose Earthquakes by a score of 1-0 to go along with the defeat in Charleston. http://www.empireofsoccer.com/new-york-cosmos-preseason-recap-46081/
The Cosmos scrimmaged Hofstra yesterday, and won 6-0. I was surprised Hofstra at least didn't make it a little more competitive considering they made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament this past season and were nationally ranked. http://www.thisiscosmoscountry.com/...age-against-hofstra-surprise-visitors-attend/
Group photo with teams and Senna in the middle... Mads was there too. Always good to see former team members hanging out.
