6 games played: November 17: Saudi Arabia 1-2 Jamaica November 17: Japan 0-2 Mexico December 10: USA 6-0 El Salvador January 19: Dominican Republic 0-1 Puerto Rico January 23: Guatemala 1-0 Puerto Rico January 25: Dominican Republic 0-0 Serbia January 26: Guatemala vs. Puerto Rico 6 games scheduled: January 29: Panama vs. Serbia February 1: USA vs. Trinidad and Tobago March 27: Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Costa Rica March 27: Wales vs. Mexico March 30: Costa Rica vs. Mexico Everyone other than the top five has two WCQs in March, so they won't play friendlies. I did not check the sites, so don't assume that the team listed first hosted or will host every games. Dominican Republic, who are 159th in the FIFA Rankings, just got a draw with Serbia, who are 30th.
February 1: USA 7-0 Trinidad and Tobago Today: Guatemala 1-0 Nicaragua (in Ciudad de Guatemala) as Nico Rittmeyer scored the only goal in the 90+4th minute. His first national team game was a friendly against Puerto in January, and today he scored his first goal in his second game. Schedule: March 24: Belarus vs. Honduras (in Borisov, Belarus) (I didn't have this game in Post 579 above) March 27: Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Costa Rica March 27: Wales vs. Mexico March 28: Greece vs. Honduras (in Thessaloniki, Greece) (I didn't have this game in Post 579 above) March 28: Northern Ireland vs. USA (in Belfast, Northern Ireland) (I didn't have this game in Post 579 above) March 30: Costa Rica vs. Mexico
Belarus 1-1 Honduras Belarus scored in the 22nd, Honduras equalized in the 45th, and Honduras did not take advantage of Belarus's red in the 55th. Honduras had a big advantage in shots (14 to 7) and shots on goal (6 to 1).
USA 4-1 Jamaica (in Austria) Jamaica scored the middle goal. USA led 2-1 until Sebastian Lletget scored in the 83rd and 90th.
Bosnia and Herzegovina 0-0 Costa Rica Wales 1-0 Mexico https://www.flashscore.com/match/Kf2QQ7wC/#match-statistics has Mexico had 70 percent of the possession, but they only had 8 shots of which 3 were on goal.
El Salvador 0-2 Guatemala https://www.flashscore.com/match/nueckDUd/#match-summary/match-summary is about this game, and if I didn't check Flash Score I wouldn't have known it happened. It was at Audi Field in D.C. I don't know how many of the players would start WCQs. The goals were in the 19th and 21st.
Both squads mostly did not use any players from abroad due to being a non FIFA date, except Eric Calvillo from El Salvador and other US based players. I don't know about El Salvador but Guatemala's squad was mostly U-23s who barely made their debut for the senior NT with a couple of older guys who also debuted. The whole team were domestic players from the Guatemalan League.
The Guatemalan press has announced a friendly. Canada vs Guatemala 22nd of January 2022 in South Florida, USA. I don't know if the Canadian Soccer Association has confirmed this yet.
I'm guessing that would be an all-MLS/CPL squad looking for some action before the three game window. Wonder if the US will do something similar?
There is going to be a training camp for Canada in January before this friendly. I expect a bunch of youngsters called up. It's already been announced that Stefan Mitrovic (who plays in the Serbian Superliga for Radnicki Nis) has accepted a call-up in January.
USA 1-0 Bosnia and Herzegovina The big events were Bosnia and Herzegovina's straight red in the 40th and USA's goal in the 89th to win 17 games in a year for the first time.
Today: Peru 1-1 Panama Colombia 2-1 Honduras (in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA) January 20: Peru vs. Jamaica Honduras hosts two WCQs and will play in USA again 17 days later.
Peru 3-0 Jamaica January 21 (tomorrow): Bolivia vs. Trinidad and Tobago January 22: Guatemala vs. Canada in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA (Canada is at Honduras five days later)
Canada canceled their game against Guatemala because of the pandemic. I hope Canada is able to play WCQs.
