Grenada vs Guyana on February 22nd In Grenada.

The Grenada Football Association has announced the dates for warm up matches among the six parishes ahead of its Inagural Grenada Super League Semi Professional competition.
These games will also be used to select a Grenada 20 man squad for an International friendly between Grenada's Spice Boyz and Guyana's Jaguars on February 22nd at the national football stadium as well as to allow former Grenadian International Otis Roberts a chance to see our local talents with a view to securing professional contracts.
Roberts, who is Executive Director of the Jason Roberts Foundation and also the uncle of Grenada International, Jason Roberts, recently secured a contract for Grenadian Clive Murray and is hoping to see the talent of others with a view of providing similar opportunities.
The trial matches carded for next week are

FEB 8 ST. MARKS SHARKS VS ST. GEORGES PATRIOTS NATIONAL STADIUM
FEB 9 ST . JOHN'S WIZARDS VS ST. DAVID'S LIONS NATIONAL STADIUM
FEB 11 ST. PATRICK'S CHIEFS VS ST. ANDREW'S PLANTERS FOND, St. Patrick's

The Grenada Super League is carded to start in March, officials are awaiting confirmation on the availability of the National Stadium for the planned starting date.

On Saturday, I was in a meeting concerning the 2da Copa Ciudad de Bayamón de Fútbol. The pesidente from the Federation of Football of Puerto Rico, Eric Labrador, was present also. He mentioned about the games of 22 (El Salvador U-23), and 24 and 26 (Nicaragua A) of February and a possible match on 29 in Puerto Rico (possibly against Aruba, U.S. Virgin Islands or BVI). Labrador referred to early in summer (maybe in June), Nicaragua comes to Puerto Rico for two more friendlies. Someone on Facebook wrote that the Football Federation of Nicaragua said that the friendly matches is in Puerto Rico on June 4th & 6th. There is no confirmation of these dates, but this link (Spanish) mentions of "possible" matches in June.

Feb 22 - El Salvador (U-23) vs Puerto Rico
Feb 24 - Nicaragua vs Puerto Rico
Feb 24 - Nicaragua vs Puerto Rico

    *Not confirmed
Feb 29 - Possible game against a Caribbean team
Jun 4 Puerto Rico vs Nicaragua
Jun 6 Puerto Rico vs Nicaragua

FIFA Dates are established by FIFA.. so they give you dates for you to plan friendlies on..

Then its the Federation's President/Administration's job to talk to other countries federations to set-up friendlies on these dates. The more popular the team is, the more it will cost to bring them over to play friendlies.

Money comes from the Federation... All the flights, hotel.. your federation is suppose to pay for that, but there have been instances where a highly successful player playing for a small nation (futebol/fiscal wise) pays for it all.

thats the general idea atleast imo.

Unless Cuba use the U-23 players to represent the "A" squad. Puerto Rico will play against El Salvador U-23, and Nicaragua "A" squad, but on the FIFA website they registered only the games against Nicaragua.

Bolivian Gen secr said that Cuba will play with 60 % Olympic team against them in the friendly on Feb 29, but the rest will be older players. If they field same team against the Jamaicans it should be a "A" match.

Here you can check the full squad for the two games against Jamaica and the game against Bolivia. There is no player born before January 1989. So it's clear that the Cuban objective is to prepare for 2012 Olympic Qualifiers in late March.

It will be interesting to see if Blackstock actually accepts the call up this time. I believe Anton Blackwood has already played for Antigua at underage level.
