Don't forget to download and install the new stuff that's been released for Unreal Tournament 2003 recently: The latest patch (Version 2199) Digital Extremes official bonus pack (released a few weeks ago) Epic Games official bonus pack (released today) DeathBall game-mode mod, a pretty cool soccer-like game mode (while technically an unofficial fan-made game mode, it's gotten so much support from Epic Games - even in so far as having the official announcer record new lines specifically for DeathBall - that it's realistically an official game mode in all but name)       Also, there are some really good fan-made maps to download from CliffyB's Ownage! site (CliffyB is the lead designer at Epic Games and the co-creator of the Unreal series), as well as other fan-made maps and game mode mods around the web. -G
Getting the game this weekend. Best to practise against AI first I suppose though I played the original game a little. What servers do you play on? Thnx for the links
I'm glad to hear that you're getting the game this weekend. With all the support this game receives (both official and unofficial), you'll definitely get a lot of "bang for your buck" (pun intended )!       The links in the first post of this thread are all still valid, although don't forget that the latest patch is now Version 2225 (the Version 2199 link above will still get you there, though).       Also, here are three additional important links: Official Bright Skins mod, which gives the option of making the red and blue team skins much brighter and turning off the shoulder lights, ala the original Unreal Tournament. Once downloaded and installed, you still have the choice of turning this option on or off via the in-game menu (personally, I have the option turned off since the bright skins don't look right to me in UT2k3, but it's still good to have the mod installed). UT2k3Assault mod BETA, which adds the popular Assault game mode from the original Unreal Tournament into Unreal Tournament 2003. While it's still in the beta stage, it's definitely worth a look - download both the Beta and the XLmapFix files from here. DM-Timeless - Try out this map... it's pretty interesting!       As for which servers: I've been so busy in the last few weeks that I haven't had much time to play the game in multiplayer - as a consequence, I've forgotten which specific servers I had played on before. I'll have more time to play soon, though, so I'll let you know. Don't forget to let me know which servers you'll play on as well. -G
Sounds great. I can't wait to play that Deathball mod, I saw some TV show recently that showed it, looks really good. Also, how heavy is it on graphics cards? I have a 64mb Nvidia 2. Will that cope or should I think about upgrading to a 128mb?
The 64mb Nvidia 2 might be okay for the game, although personally I'd go for the 128mb card (if you can afford it), as that'll soon be the standard for just about all games before too long.       Also, I recently found a Russian Bonus Map Pack for UT2k3. It seems to have a lot of really good maps, with some of them having modern Russian music/songs in the background - not knowing Russian (to understand the lyrics) will in no way detract from the enjoyment of the maps, although knowing Russian (which I do) will certainly add to the experience.       (While the Deck 16 map remake in the Russian Bonus Map Pack is pretty good, the definitive Deck 16 map remake for UT2k3 remains James "CreepyD" Morgan's version that can be found here) -G
