Well, that says quite a bit. I am actually surprised by Broome, though. OK. You know what? DOES PETER VAGENAS HAVE NAKE PICTURES OF DOUG HAMILTON'S WIFE? What is it going to take to get rid of this guy?
Broome is very surprising. I'm not familiar with LA's squad but left backs, particularly ones that perform at a decent level like Broome, are no in abundance in MLS. WHo else do they have who can play the position well?

Suprised at the Metros' choices. Can't believe they didn't protect Walker, and protected all three of Bonseu, Parke, and Leitch. Maybe they have a deal for Thornton or something else on the table. Predictions so far: Broome, Vaca?? to RSL Torres, Walker to Chivas
The Galaxy choices make sense to me. I doubt RSL or Chivas will pay a lot for a defensive midfielder - the article seems to imply that taking him in the expansion draft will require them to exercise the "buy option" in the loan contract. I'm also less enthusiastic about Broome than others. He runs up and down the field a lot, but only gets about one good cross a game. Plus, he fouls a lot on defense.
Walker is out of contract, so it's not too surprising ... I actually predicted it. Bonseu had to be protected as an SI, and Parke is an obvious choice. As a cheap and decent center back, he's a valuable commodity. As for Leitch, he's a cheap and decent outside back, not a bad guy to have around, although I predicted he'd be out. Part of the reason I got Leitch wrong is that I hadn't known about the new TI limits. The Metros will only be able to keep three of their four TI's next season (Glen, Vaca, Brenes, and Gilberto Flores). Not surprisingly, they exposed two of them, and when one gets drafted, they'll protect the other one. That will leave them with three.
That's pretty much what most Metro fans expected, especially after the comments by Nick S. about Walker. Kinda surprised that Brenes is on there, though. He'll probably get snapped up by Chivas.
metros supposedly want thornton... working on a trade sergio is getting league max and not scoring... no one will take him... lewis said they will probably sell him to a south american team joselito is a bit surprising to me, though
He also gets caught upfield a fair amount, has trouble controlling his temper, and makes turnovers like the one that gave the Wizards an insurance goal in the semi-final.
Yeah, looks like Thornton is going to be going east. Nick S. has to now be called Bizzarro Wilt - does the opposite of trying to make the fans happy and create a championship team.

i wouldn't draft meola... because i see him as a huge risk to re-sign... he ain't worth anything near the max anymore... and he won't be offered it... so i think he might just retire

I agree on Meola. I have a feeling there will be at least two or three more goalies that RSL and Chivas will be able to pick from. Walker is a great pick for Chivas, it'll show that they aren't going all Latino - just spanish-speaking. I'm thinking of starting a thread on who'll end up retiring in the off-season, and what they'll end up doing. There's gotta be at least two future coaches in this flock (Preki is the next Nowak?).
