Bob Gibson intentionally hit opposing pitcher Pete LaCock with a pitch during an old-timers' game in 1986 to "balance the books" after LaCock had hit a grand slam off of Gibson in Gibson's final MLB game in 1975. Gibson hit LaCock with the first pitch, and when asked about it later, he said, "the books must be balanced".
Pete LaCock wasn't a pitcher, I think he was an OF. He played for the Cubs, and his father was a TV personality who (wisely) used a different last name. He was Peter Marshall, who hosted game shows like the Hollywood Squares
If I’m listening to an unfamiliar piece of classical music, and it sounds like the piano is being punched out by the pianist, I assume, almost always correctly, that the composer is Russian.
Was La Cock OK? Ralph Pierre LaCock almost made it to 100. Died last year at 98 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Marshall_(entertainer)
Maybe this belongs in the music thread, but the importance of piano as a percusión instrument was due to the failure of Europeans to adequately incorporate drums and similar true percusión instruments into their “enlightened” music. The fusion of European and African music in the new world changed all that. The Africans showed us what a real percusión instrument is and how it should be played.
Who would have thought the Democrats as an entire party could have been completely outmaneuvered by MTG? Kamala deserves ALL the protestors.
School buses should be divided into two groups: elementary (traditional yellow) and secondary (green). Drivers are allowed to pass a stopped green bus. The result will be a slight uptick in maturity and personal responsibility among the overall student body.
Leaving aside your premise, most school districts use the same buses for elementary and high school. This would require school districts to spend double on buses.
