Chili over Fritos is an LSU thing. Not bad at all. My hometown school district used to serve chili with peanut butter sandwiches. Made for a surprisingly good dip and/or sop lunch.

I freaked a person out at a party in Chicago once. We were mingling and talking about food oddities. We’d earlier established our alma maters, so I knew she’d graduated from Iowa. One of her sorority sisters would make a peanut butter sandwich to eat with chili. I said, “was that by any chance J**** Y********? She nearly gagged on her beer. She was calmed down when I told her we went through school together, and due to the alphabetical proximity of our surnames, se sat near each other a lot.

Since only one girl from my class went to Iowa, I would have put major cash on a bet that I’d guess correctly, given that I’ve never heard of people from outside our town doing this

    Never heard of that!

GIven that you've got roots/have spent time in Nebraska, I assume you know about chili & cinnamon rolls?

I managed to live in Ohio (northern) for 3 years and never have Skyline chili. Sweet chili with cinnamon just doesn't sound good to me. The other stuff, OK. I would try spaghetti underneath - have had grits, cornbread, rice - seems like any carb would be OK.

Yeah, was listening to an update this morning, and my only thought was that Macron needs to resign. I don't even think a snap election would help.

OK, we have to find out WTF is going on with Midwestern Wypipo's diets. Chili & PBJs? Do y'all have Pepto deliveries like Normals get water jugs delivered?

Not just an LSU thing. I've had it in both Memphis and Milwaukee. Seems be something southern, like Mississippi or Louisiana and exported north.

    hahahahaha

OK let's just go nuts then. Dog diarrhea instead of marinara on a chicken parm sandwich. I hear it's all the rage in Kokomo.

My bet is that he'll dissolve -again- the National Assembly.
The issue is that the elections will most likely either give the same result (no majority and an ungovernable assembly), or a majority for Le Pen's party.
In both cases, Macron is a lame duck and the country is in a deep political crisis, probably even a regime crisis. He could very well finally resign before the end of his term, but not now. We will know very soon.

My mother effectively shielded me from that one. Do tell.

I suspect that would be more apt to this thread than the food thread.

You misread. I didn't say, PB&J. I said "Peanut Butter sandwich." Ideally on wheat bread.

I presume that when you partook of a dip that you dipped once and ended it!

Open a small bag of Fritos, scoop in some chili, shredded cheese, lettuce and onions and you have what we call a walking taco. You can buy them while watching the Crew at LDC, but we have been making them at OSU tailgates since I was a kid.

Truthfully, I usually skipped the J. But I was in high school, so just about anything went. Just about. I still objected to liver (mom loves) and beats (dad a fan). There were times when dinner was hell.

I don't understand why we don't talk about miscarriages more in this country and try to give more support to those who have to cope with that horror.

I see that at any tailgate around here too that's serving chili. The big scoop Fritos work best.

Chili Frito was huge where I grew up in California. I still make it from time to time. Absolutely delicious.
