    Ray Hudson responding:

    What kind of attitude?
“This isn’t the time to go into this because that’s a personal confrontation that I’m going to have with a certain individual. I’d rather not really get into that. But, I hate that s---. It’s like that sort of . . . . that attitude . . .”
“It’s funny because you get that feeling from that one thing. Then it’s like a disease it spreads like a f------ cancer, and it gets in. It won’t get into this team. It will be cut off at its the source. You could sense it and I told them before we took the field, ‘There’s something in here that’s been set by somebody’s attitude, and it’s going to affect us.’ I don’t know if you want to call it karma, or if that’s just . . . people think, ‘That’s just b------- to be talking about that.’ But, there was something that f------ stunk like high s---, and it won’t be there next year.”

Was it a player or official?
“I don’t want to tell you honestly. It something we’ll do . . . we’ll wash our own dirty laundry and throw it out.”

So is it confirmed this is Moreno? If so, why was he inserted in the game instead of Quaranta? I just do not understand. Please comment.

Maybe Quaranta told him he couldn't go in. Then the question becomes would you rather see a disinterested, washed up Moreno or Lassiter.

My vote goes for JM 9.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest it was Richie Williams...

Though the profile seemingly fits what has happened recently with Jaime and Ray, this seemed a more isolated incident in which a player (I am assuming a healthy one as Jaime has no claim to play being injured) was cheesed off that they wouldn't start when they normally do..

Chino did start ahead of Bichie and Bichie is nothing if not a fiery little hombre.. Williams has a history of in fighting with teamates and it wouldn't suprise me one bit to see the Wee One go off when told he wouldn't be starting..

Just some supposition on my part....

I've asked this before and I'll ask it again. Why even bring this up to the media if you're not going to elaborate on it? If you're going to do this "In House" and privately, why even mention it? Is this Rays way of saying down the road, "See, I told you so"? Jeez, the drama.....

That was my guess as well.

I agree that if you want to keep it private you don't mention it at all. I love Ray and his colorful nature and quotability is great for the sport, but, sometimes he's more passive-aggressive than my mother-in-law.

Yes, yes, yes. Ray needs to learn to watch his mouth better. Some things, indeed many things, need to stay in the locker room. We fans love to know what's going on and some actually find Ray's rambles interesting (not me however). Nevertheless, a healthy team does not wash its dirty laundry in public. And players deserve their coach's support, in public certainly, and in private. Ray needs to engage brain before opening mouth.

This whole business of trying to figure out who is in Ray's doghouse and why and what it means for next season is already boring.

The fact is that we're not going to know for sure who is staying and going until announcements are made by the team and, most likely, we'll never know for sure why certain decisions were made.

And guess what, that's just fine with me.

We can speculate until we're blue in the face but it's really all just wasted energy.

But it's extra posts to our post counts Barb. Extra posts!!

Plus it's the offseason (it's hard saying that in September), but what else do you want to talk about?

I also thought it was probably Richie. Because Ty said before the game that Ray had told him that Richie probably won't be happy not starting. And of course Ty got this info way before United were in the locker room.

About Jaime, what has been going on between him and Ray? I've heard nothing about that. I thought Ray was backing him.

You mean like publicly wondering about the commitment of your star forward to returning from injury? Maybe criticizing his training habits?

Now was that Ray, or was that The Bruce?

Different players respond in different ways and the coach has a better idea than any of us how he ought to send his messages. And let's say this player is beyond redemption...well now some of his teammates know which side of the fence they damn well better be sitting on...

I think the difference is that Hudson typically offers this kind of information on his own. Arena tends to not say anything unless he starts getting alot of heat and very direct questions.

I don't think it was Richie, who was the offending attitude before the game. No doubt he went off about not starting, but Ray certainly expected that and that kind of outburst wouldn't botheer him at all. If anything, he applauds that kind of passion and desire.

I think the kind of attitude he hates is apathy or indifference. Seems to me someone, or a group of someones are beginning to show they don't care anymore.

However, as someone pointed out, speculation is a bit useless, no matter how intriguing it is. No doubt, time will tell.

Isn't this being a bit harsh? Moreno wasn't fit to begin the season (albeit because of late surgery that should've been taken care of sooner) and never got into the swing of things. I can't believe he's either "disinterested" or "washed up." Get him fit next season with some confidence and he'll score loads of goals. Have a little faith and respect for the guys who got us 3 MLS Cups.

Despite an overall great team effort I thought the only thing stinking it up out there was Jaime. I was really questioning his insertion for Zambrano. Granted Z had to come out but perhaps from some alittle more defense minded and not injured. If Jaime somehow gave Ray the thumbs up for him to play, and then went out there and stunk it up it may definately be an attitude issue. Regardless, we'll find out soon enough.

I have to say it was Richie also. he was very pissed the whole time from the way it looked. When they went off the field at halftime, he ran in before anyone else.

I don't think Tino said he could not go in. Tino, Jaime, and Curtis were all warming up together and not anywhere near the bench. When Zambrano came up injured after the goal, Jaime was called back to the bench right away.
