    Starters:
Doug Warren - 5 Some good stuff there.

Bryan Namoff- 5.5 Did quite well on the wing. With a coach who knows how to organize an offense he could be quite a player.

Ryan Nelsen - 5.5 Attack improved in the second half when he moved forward to midfield.

Mike Petke- 5.5 Battled hard all game.

Brandon Prideaux - 5 I'm sorry but he just doesnt have an ounce of offense in his body. And so Hudson puts too much of a burden on him.

Earnie Stewart- 4.5 Playing him in the middle is a mistake. He hustled, but he can't be counted on to initiate the offense. He's the very definition of a complimentary player.

Marco Etcheverry- 4 Played waaaay too deep which allowed Chicago to dominate the midfield. His last competitive match for DCU.

Dema Kovalenko - 4.5 Maybe he should have said, "Screw you Marco. If you are gonna concede midfield by playing so far back, I'll take it on myself to be the a-mid."

Bobby Convey- 5.5 A tale of two halves. 1st half on the left wing, was his normal dissassociated self. 2nd half in the middle was much more dangerous. If he had decent forwards, we'd have scored a couple.

Ronald Cerritos - 4.5- Like Earnie, Ronald can't be the point of attack. Hopefully we can trade him cause he doesn't look to goal nearly often enough.

Hristo Stoitchkov - 4- Too old. Too cranky. Toodle-oo, bub. Why he wasn't a sub....

    Subs:
Eliseo Quintanilla- 5 Good effort, a big upgrade on Marco.

Santino Quaranta - 4.5- Years from now, I hope he looks back at this season and shudders about the nighmare he had. Hopefully next year's coach brings out his talent.

Thiago Martins- 4.5 Brought in after Chicago decided to lay back, rendering him ineffective.

    Everyone 4 or less.

I cannot believe people are giving Nelsen higher marks than some other players. he was the worst player out there the first half and had an assisit on the first goal and nearly gave them another with a great header down into the box. he passed the ball more to Chicago midfielders than any player on the field.

How can you blame a defender for clearing the ball out of the box and then having no midfielders cover (surprise surprise) Williams who went on to hit a rare magical strike? Nelly did his job, our mids didn't do a thing the entire game.

Head the ball out to the side, not the middle of the field. Probably learned that around U8 I think.

Head the ball up and out first from defense. If I remember it right it did go off to the side somewhat. It's simple enough that if DC's mids had been covering their guys Williams never would've gotten the shot. About 3 minutes later DC had a very similar situation where a ball was coming down to Stewart at the edge of the box, but Armas nicked in and took the ball away. If the midfield had done their jobs noone would be wrongfully trashing Nelsen.

I guess we have to disagree then Todd because I think Nelsen could have done much better with that clearance (and he seems to agree) and that he was absolutely terrible for the first half.

Here are the grades for a total of 9 voters with Martins getting 2 NR's:

    Starters:
    Doug Warren 4.61
    Bryan Namoff 4.61
    Ryan Nelsen 5.06
    Mike Petke 5.56
    Brandon Prideaux 4.22
    Earnie Stewart 4.22
    Marco Etcheverry 3.67
    Dema Kovalenko 4.44
    Bobby Convey 4.72
    Ronald Cerritos 4.33
    Hristo Stoitchkov 3.44

    Subs:
    Eliseo Quintanilla 5.56
    Santino Quaranta 4.17
    Thiago Martins 4.57

With all but three players (Petke, Nelson, Quintanilla) getting ratings under 5 it is now wonder they lost 2-0 to a better Chicago team. Well onto Sunday.
