    At Old Trafford....

Should be a heck of a match, yeah?

    yeah it should.

Remember the "goat" from last season. He sunk us with a late goal as i recall.

Im sure we will unveil our new *back eight* in this contest to hamper the goal flow from Fowler and Anelka.

We should rip Citeh to shreads, but with the last two results ringing throught this teams collective cranium i suspect a lot of uncertainty from us.

I do hope i am wrong and that the modern footballer can not remember from one match to another.

Find it hard to get excited about the FA cup, probably because we don't get it televised out here :)

Been wondering, what does the [R] mean in some posts?

It means that there is a result (possibly) in the thread, so folks who are watching a tape delayed broadcast or a tape of a certain match and don't want to know the score can avoid the thread.

This has got to be the least inflammatory post I have ever made in the ManU forum!

The [R]esult of the match will be mentioned in the thread.

Also, the United Forum also has a policy that OTHER match results than the game in the thread title may be given or mentioned.

This may be a time to experiment a bit with the lineup...or is it? You have to figure that the FA Cup is the best chance we have for silver this year.

    Anyway:

    -------Ruud------Saha------

    ---------Scholes------------

    --Giggs-------------Ronaldo

    --------Keane---Klebs-------

    --O'Shea---Silvestre---G. Neville

    ----------Howard-------------

Try to dominate midfield possession so our defenders can't screw up by leaving unmarked men in the box. That's the theory anyway.

City played us pretty solidly earlier this year (but then they almost always do). We won 3-1, but they had their chances. Who knows, with the defense looking so bad, Anelka or Robbie *#*#*#*#*#*#er might get one in if we're not careful. Also SW-P is always a threat.

Of what I've read, it's on live on closed circuit only at 7:30, with a PPV replay (which you can order from home) at 10. If this is true, looks like an early morning at the pub. I remember that the debacle v. Arsenal last year was a painfully early Saturday start.

In this fixture, I expect Man Utd to beat Man City and advance to the 6th round of the FA Cup. I think the team will bounce back from its 3-2 loss to Middlesbrough in last Wednesday's Premier League play. It's quite obvious that Man Utd had some bad defensive play in its recent games. Still, www.sportsbetting.com places Man Utd as the favorite (1.38) to win the game. Any thoughts on how Man Utd can improve its defensive play in the absence of Rio Ferdinand?

I doubt there will be any experimenting, although I like your lineup. Saha is cup tied so I figure SAF will play a 4-5-1, but we'll see.

Gary Neville will be back...he should help make the defense steadier (did I really say that????!).

The big question is whether Fergie continues with the Brown-Silvestre pairing the the middle. He may go with Gary-Silvestre or O'Shea-Silvestre...

I don't get this. Why would anyone pay for this "massive" PPV game...when it's not live? I guess my question could also be "Why should".

I don't get it either, but I'll pretend the game is really at 10 so it will be live to me. This is too big of a game to miss.

I'd do the same, but I need to be somewhere at 11. The only other option is taping off of the 10 a.m. feed if I'm too lazy to get up. The other problem is that the bars near me will probably be charging $20 to watch, more than the cost of watching at home.

I hear you, but it's United vs. Citeh in the FA Cup. You just can't miss it.

I know, but it doesn't make the 7:00 a.m. alarm any more pleasant.

It is worrying that we've come down to that, isn't it? :D

Still, he may well have outjumped Juninho

yes... outjumped Juninho and sent the header crashing into the back of the net...

I almost cried laughing when playing CM03/04 after making an errant back pass which had to be hurriedly cleared he hammered the result (a rebound from a long range shot) off the post an in... i could not believe it...

My thoughts exactly. Let's see if the defense shores up with the 4-5-1, especially since Saha will not be available.
