The USA is still in it, so that's an improvement at least. Hopefully, no stupid red cards in the 2nd half.
Well we failed one part of the game plan I would have liked to see. Score early. That just did not happen and never looked in danger of happening.
I liked Bob Morocco's suggestion on twitter: have Reyna drift centrally to make room for Weston, who would effectively be playing his the 'mezzala' role he grew into this season at Juve. But I don't think this is in Berhalter's deck.
How was it a great half? It's zero zero. We had zero good chances. It might have been a great half if this was game 1, but bro we need goals.
I dont want Tyler on the backline, he already is over running. Second half, you just have to fight enough to get a goal and then probably fight them too.
Beerholder is like the Balatro player that never played anything higher than black stake and thinks the game is easy.
Adams probably can’t go more than 60 though. Maybe McKennie at right back, Wright on, and Reyna to midfield?
I often go out of my way to criticize Adams and nope. It was a bad play by him but a dangerous play by the other guy.
The US has the finesse, but looks surprised at how the game is going. Uruguay has much better positioning and they're fully prepared to take down any US player who threatens to get past them.
Adams should not have gotten carded. He did commit the foul. The Uruguayan defender made a clean play on the ball, and Adams got no ball and clattered into him. It's a foul. Adams getting stepped on was incidental, and there was no misconduct or recklessness on Adams' part to justify the caution. It's a foul. Nothing else.
I would have had an assistant coach tell the ref at half that this game is going to be reviewed, and if his dismal and one-sided performance continues into the second half, he'll be lucky if it doesn't tank his career.
