Looks like we're picking up right where we left off. We're still having a surprisingly easy time making line-breaking passes.
Multiple US players are going for the ball. One of them MUST boot it or grab it. Instead, they all hesitate and it drops between them. Turner is bad for coming out, but is he supposed to just let the ball bounce on the penalty spot? When Freeze got the job, we basically all agreed he was a PK specialist, but otherwise a push, right? So have Turner and Steffen had howlers where they came and whiffed? Yeah, loads. They've also both given up SOFT goals, which hasn't happened with Freeze yet. They've also both given the ball directly to the opposition press multiple times, while Freeze has avoided doing so. He came for a ball and whiffed. Happens to Horvath every corner. Happened here. Too bad, he's still the best GK we have right now with any experience. And depending on the group, I'd be much more worried about team continuity rather than the GK only.
99% of the time a robona is not necessary and while looking cool is the worst decision you could make….that might have been the 1%
Yes, the spacing is better and the movement is better, which in turn gives everyone an extra half second to pick out a pass. Good tactics make technique easier, and vice versa.
He ripped the lack of attention to detail….saying we’re trying to build a competitive team at the WC and you can’t switch off (alcohol paraphrase my thanksgiving vacation started at 5pm that’s the best you’re getting from me)
They are going to have to take a trip to 3iAtlas if this keeps up. The fans and media are going to rip them to shreds until March.
Maybe the first half vs Morocco in 2022? It was only 2-0 at halftime (en route to a 3-0 result), but I remember it being a completely dominant half.
Uruguay came out super flat and passive. I watched the game against Mexico, and they had a lot more intensity. Not in a great way, because I thought they were chippy and bit dirty vs Mexico, but they were aggressive. Still, Mexico outplayed them. Not sure where that team was in the first half. Not sure how to judge this game. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Uruguay starts hacking. At least that would show they care.
One thing I love about playing friendlies against Conmebol teams is that they bring it because who the ******** wants to lose to the norteamericanos? That shit is just personally embarrassing
