To be fair, it's a Defensive Keystone Cops moment. Not an individual GK mistake (e.g Howard getting beat from 40 yards out by Trinidad, or recently our GKs consistently letting in soft goals over and over the last couple years). Multiple mistakes and a poor decision to come out, eventually culminated in a bycicle kick goal. That doesn't scream "The GK will lose us games", merely that our starting backline needs to stay the same through to the WC. Because otherwise we'll be throwing out a unit without much experience together. And I think it's experience that helps eliminate the mistakes we saw on that play.

Yes, which is a real factor that a team like us needs to factor.

surprisingly, he got a lot more involved once we moved him from the right sided 8 spot. he was invisible there.

for the second half (of the first half) out mid has looked a lot like morris behind berhalter/luna/tillman, r to l.

    (referring to tillman, not morris)

He has been doing the dirty work, pressing. There is a play where he was ready for his patten through ball run but LUNA wanted to be the hero but got stuffed like always.

I'd like to see a keeper sub at halftime. If there was ever a perfect time to give someone else a chance, it's right now.

The real goal danger began with a terrible decision by the GK who came out for a ball he failed to win and got punished. All goals are team goals, and that one, as well, as we failed to clear the danger, but that's one that screams "poor goalkeeping."

They look better than the Paraguay squad vs a better opponent. And I thought e eryone was pretty good against Paraguay.

Aside from GK, and dedicated winger, I think we are building some quality depth.

I think we underrate how good guys like Luna are, but I think it's more that the movement and spacing is outstanding. That's in large part coaching.

You want a real good GK with his feet? Get Kochen, he is excellent with his feet for a GK.

I think it's probably two spots because I think rosters are going to be 28-30 instead of 26, but the point stands.

Real blood in the water moment for these guys.

Because it’s honestly not a bad defense. I really don’t know WTF is going on. Oliveira, Ugarte, Araujo??? These guys are elite if not World class

My read as well. Considering how obvious the effects of genuine competition for spots at every other position have been, I wish we’d have at least had someone challenging him.

berhalter has played great. this is the best ive ever seen him....in the run of play he struggled in the gold cup, imo...but not tonight. its not jsut the goals. hes playing well otherwise.

but this version of uruguay is not the urugay I know....they look like they all got drunk last night or something

The usual Bielsa worn out welcome has already started. There have been a lot of lockeroom issues for them.

So Beasley said he hasn’t seen a half like that in a long time. I feel likewise. But I can’t remember when the last time was. (against comparably ranked opponents) Anyone wanna offer an answer?

So aside from the tackle and hockey assist on goal #3, the deflected pass on Luna's goal #4, leading the press like a madman, and keeping the ball under pressure in the center of the park, Tilman has been lackluster? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Uruguay should hire Klinsmann (haha). Honestly Bob Bradley could take them far. Or Tab Ramos!!!

I retract all my previous criticism of Poch based on that interview. I will not be taking questions. Thank you for your consideration to this matter.

Some good 2nd string players won't make it to the WC.
Berhalter is moving up in the ranks.
I don't rate Luna as high as some of you. He is not going to beat out Reyna or Malik.
