I'm really pissed off about that goal, a total Keystone Cops switch-off, but I think it's an important reminder that the margins against great teams are everything. They had been let off the hook twice not long before. Some days, you're the windshield and some days you're the bug. It's a day where everything had been going right, but it's not always that way.

I'm a strong believer in a lot of our players, much more than most, though I didn't honestly think that a 2nd/3rd team could possibly outscore Uruguay over a half 4-1.

That said, we have a problem at GK. Freese is likely to lose us a match in the WC that we shouldn't lose.

Didn't mean to disagree with the criticism, just wanted to humorously swing the pendulum the whole other way for comedic effect.

Sadly for Tolkin, he’s got Jedi and Arfsten still ahead.

Has Morris or Tilman had anything to do in first half?

I haven’t been able to watch so closely in 1T. I saw some corners by Tolkin. And he had a pre-assist on 4th goal. But was there anything else you’d point to?

Brendan, Luna, Seb, Zendejas all in a battle for maybe one roster spot. Going to be a tough choice.

well, therein lies the problem- everyone complaining about freese not coming out for balls are acting like the alternative (turner) wouldnt be going way worse.

that goals a bummer for the back 3, theyve kept their line immaculate until that clusterf. mckenzie in particular.

i dont think we need to go out and go for four more, but i really hope we dont just try to pass this second half into oblivion...

Morris has done quite a bit. Tim Tillman, aside from that great tackle and hockey assist, has been lackluster. By a good margin the worst on the field for us today.

Keeping was never my bag and a lot of y’all have more expertise there, but outside of the one penalty shootout, is there anything Frease has done, or generally does wel, to have this nailed on starter status?

That's really all that he's done. And made most of the saves that you'd expect a keeper to make.

I think his nailed-on status is down to vibes. Poch had to pick a guy to give the gloves, so he picked the guy who won him a shootout, and he hasn't lost them.

I think he's been pretty good. There was a moment earlyish in the first half where he should have made a run towards the near post because Tolkin had a clear pass he wanted to make, but Haji didn't make the run, so the pass didn't happen.

And he hasn't had the ball at the feet brainfarts that Turner has.
