What do you think this performance is suppose to prove? I'm not going to quote you every match he doesn't show up for moving forward. Don't be pathetic. I never said or thought he couldn't score some goals against a Caribbean minnow.
Let's make sure to give Luna credit for working his tail off and creating those two goals. Player of the first half. Just works his socks off.
That goal will be used as a stat by some poster in a future date to say he should be playing over Pulisic or something. Just compare the goals they’ve scored for the US in the last 5 games!
He was trying to steal that backpass, though. The luck was the guy did it without really looking. But there's no reason for him to make that run unless he was going for that, I think.
Agyemang now at 4 goals in 2025. 2025 has been such a dumpster fire that Tillman is now joint second-leading scorer.
Like two years ago? Like a lot of smaller nations, their depth is really poor. A few missing players hits them hard.
That is true of every player. It all evens out, as they say. Hell, people are using Sargent's 3 goals years ago against Cuba as a reason he should be playing these games. That is life.
At this moment, Diego is the only guy on this squad who I think might make a difference next summer. Tillman might get there, but for me, Luna is already there. I may be biased because i thoroughly love his backstory, and I have a preference for players who are always making things happen, even if many of them don’t come off. He’s one of my faves.
There were several players of the first half. Tillman, Luna, and McGlynn were probably chief among them. Another interesting development is that Berhalter basically delivers a near-perfect set piece ball every single time.
Obviously that was luck, but I will say that the first goal came out of his outmuscling the CB for the ball. He's not great, but he's not a bad fit for CONCACAF matches in that respect.
