Kiese had 2 caps at a January Cupcake came. He came on for Zardes.

He was on Stuttgart's books at the time but was out of favor and was sent down to the reserves.

His next club was in the 2.BL. But he wasn't a regular starter at that level, and after that his next stop was in the USL Championship.

This makes it even more mind-boggling that Mike Magee never got a cap.

Jonathan Lewis (even though he got two goals and two assists in 275 minutes)?

Alan Gordon scored a winner in a WCQ; not like he was great but I’d take him over PA.

Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Alan Gordon, in small part because he scored that goal. But to my eye PA is already a better striker.

    Scoring goals, and playing soccer.

Maybe more analysis, and fewer half assed hot takes?

    So Cal
Berhalter has been unspectacularly good. He does all the little things.

I watched Alan Gordon play a lot of soccer for the Galaxy. Loved his attitude and his mentality. Always thought he did a great job maximizing his talents after having taken a long, indirect road to professional soccer. And he introduced himself to David Beckham by deadpan saying, “I’m Alan Gordon. And who are you?” Legend.

But the current generation of fringe USMNT strikers are better at the physical and tactical stuff than Gordon. Most of them are substantially better.
