Also was a major part of the 3rd goal when he got caught up field on a turnover and then fully committed to a tackle that he missed. Just a miserable day at the office for him.
Tessmann had a poor tournament. At least relative to expectations. He had a very long season and played a ton of minutes. Hopefully thats a big reason for his poor form and not just a commentary on his quality overall.
It is so hard to give even a little sh*t about US Soccer. The program has no heart and doesn't care about me -- so why should I give a crap. I guess that's on me. They can go embarrass themselves on the big stage, what do I care? They suck, not me.
I saw Mihalovic do one thing but that's all I saw him do. We need to get the CIA to go through the records of every youth striker globally and work out who has an American grandparent. More important than freaking Israel or Ukraine.
USA men is full of posters who regularly embarrass themselves with comments like this. Act like a grown man.
Good result from the US Played themselves out the field No tactical cohesion Can clean house from top to bottom No more Mihailovic A nation that has not improved at all when it comes to football IQ
Mitrovic definitely could have done things better. But it’s hard to really read too much into things when it’s not close to the best U23 group we could have taken. It’s like Olympic qualifying in 2021. Kreis made mistakes but we were so far from our top U23 team that it wasn’t really indicative of anything.
I played in the 80’s and 90’s, was involved in the top pro/rel league in the country as well as the national team pool, have intently watched every World Cup and national team competition, and this is the most embarrassing period I have ever seen. Prior to a home World Cup we look like mental midgets. We play dumb and without competitive spirit.
Strange out of all the options to pick Tessmann out. I think he was one of the best players -- but it was a super low bar.
I'm with you on the venting but only one or two players didn't play scared, didn't struggle to control the ball, didn't fail to handle the press, didn't pass to the right team, didn't fall for every damn fake (how do these players not know not to fall for every fake?) - this is a development issue and a culture issue - the game means so much more to Morocco and its players.
That makes it all the more embarrassing because the difference between those top 3 players probably isn't 4 goals.
I'm guessing its because the ref called the game 10 seconds before we went the full 5 minutes of stoppage time. And the penalty calls as well.
