You mean like he did for the 2018 World Cup? And yes, I know that he was our best player in qualifying. But the fact is the fact … one player does not take a team to the World Cup. People are overthinking and overstating the Christian Pulisic angle. I love the guy, but we need to stop deifying him.

I hate this team now. Thanks for ruining it, jackasses.

    Sunil, you're a jackass.
    Garber, you're a jackass.
    Arena, jackass.
    Klinsi, du bist einen Esel.
    Sarachan, jackass.

I dont think it can be overstated how dumb that lineup is. Even if it were a diamond midfield and Weah was up top with Zardes it would still terrible without a true AM.

I think you could play Acosta as an AM but no he’s out wide with Weah. Can we pick a coach already so I don’t have to see anymore of this?

    By far, Sarachan’s worst XI.

Hopefully, the way it’s played is more like...

    ———Weah—Zardes——-
    —Acosta—Wes—Adams—
    —————Trapp————-
    Lichaj———————Moore
    ———Miazga—CCV———

    Instructions
    Trapp shields the back 4.

Kellyn, McKennie, and Adams are tasked to be box to box, work Mexico to death.

Zardes pressures the defense. Weah is the outlet on the counter.

Honestly that is my legit biggest worry if Berhalter is indeed the guy.

Looking at that starting lineup I see that Sarachan is again playing to not lose too bad. However there is enough talent there that, if the players choose to, they can break the bounds that the USSF is trying to tie them up in and play a good match with a fair chance of pulling off a victory.

At this point it is up to the players to show the fortitude to ignore the bad plan that is being thrown at them and punch through.

The USSF is showing through allowing Sarachan to continue throwing out teams that are designed to try to tie or not lose too bad in matches that are difficult that they, the USSF are cowards. The USSF has said that the players are not good enough to play against teams like Mexico so let's just try to not make it too bad. The players need to show that the USSF is no better than the bunch of cowards they are acting like and that they, the players, can play quite good in spite of being hamstrung by the higher ups.

    1. I don't understand how Trapp is still starting. He's been fine, but we're sitting guys like Yedlin/Brooks/Wood who are older, known quantities just like he is.

    2. It feels almost disrespectful at this point that Novakovich still can't get a start. He's been producing for clubs and called up for a while now and has never started. Zardes gets called up for the first time in years and immediately gets a start over him. If that's the way it had always been in position battles, then fine, but it's not.

    I can also see 4-1-2-1-2.

    Acosta as the ten?

What's worse is if/when this lineup isn't very functional and doesn't provide the US answers, Sarachan has shown a refusal to make halftime subs. He's got to treat the game like a Champion's League final and he's got an entrenched best xi.

Why are we tied to this stupid formation that doesn't fit our team? Christ.
